Imagine a prominent figure was charged not with raping a maid, but starving her to death, along with her children, her parents, and thousands of other people. That is what the IMF has done to innocent people in the recent past. that is what it will do

Noted, Judith, and thanks for the article. this is just an example of what happens when anything gains too much power... they tend to abuse it The IMF should be run out of business, and the United States should bring it's troops home and quit trying to dominate the world!

Excellent article on the IMF. I have always hated them, ever since I found out what they were doing, have been doing for quite some time. I love it that Malawi threw them out, lol! Everyone should take note of that and do likewise. Thanks, Judith.

Would not - at the end - the evil - after having terminated everything - destroy itself?

From the IMF to Fifa and back to Wall Street the banks big busines and politicians all seem to be tainted with greed corruption and self interest Send the lot away on the next space shuttle with a one way ticket or maybe not, what harm has the man in the moon or the Martians done us!

Like all others who become powerful at the expense of the sufferance of others have evil intentions to begin with! Stay away from any such organization! We are all One & all connected! When we become enlightened with their evil intentions then we become free of their manipulation evil agenda! All who become powerful at the expense of all others are evil & criminal to begin with! And until we can walk away from all this well intentioned & promises & lies, nothing will change! The world must wake up to what is good for one is good for all! It does not have to be this way, it is a choice that the greedy must have it all & in the end they will not eat money but perish by it! Good will overcome evil! God will see to this! Thanks Judith.

These greedy pigs are not different than the corporate pigs that are decimating the middle class in the United States. Their avariciousness is creating a two class system, the rich and the poor.

Outstandingly damning article about the IMF economic assassins. The best one I have ever seen in a mass media publication.

“If Strauss-Kahn is guilty, I suspect I know how it happened. He must have mistaken the maid for a poor country in financial trouble. Heads of the IMF have, after all, been allowed to rape them with impunity for years.”

We need to form micro financial systems everywhere that function with gold, silver, copper or anything of real value that doesn't degrade rapidly. Even using salt, sugar and rice has proved very successful when precious minerals are in short supply.

Interest means the banks are stealing the value of our money and property. Inflation is evidence of this and should never happen at all EVER.

True Islamic banking is the only way forward. The Holy Bible also says usury (interest) is illegal and with very good reason but is not so precise about what materials money should be. Please study this because it will open up a globally conspiratorial can of worms.

Can someone please make a proper link to the Islamic banking thread of Judith’s; I think it is the answer to the economic problems in the world. There is a particularly nice speech at the bottom of the article in eleven parts which starts off a little slow for my preference but gets better and better.

Actually, n the last ten years or so the IMF has made some dramatic changes in the way they operate, and many of these changes have been 'good' and beneficial for the world's poor.

Much of this happened under Strauss-Kahn's (DSK) turn as managing director, which is part of why he was removed from his position amidst shady, unsubstantiated charges.

Thanks for bringing the IMF into the light. It should be put on trial for being an agent of the multi-national corporations over the people of the world.

Don’t let the fact that you are not Muslim put you off listening to the lecture in the link Jelica kindly posted; even if you have heard nothing good about Islam please listen to it because it explains why the world should never suffer from poverty or inflation or any economic ills at all and gives us a perfect solution to the banksters evil that we can all implement.

Thank you Jelica. Love the avatar.

Microfinance works fine, as well. Also, check The Bank of North Dakota. There are better ways to manage investments than INF, WTO and Wall Street do.

Ghandi said something on the lines of dont look to the laws of the land if the land itself is corrupt (please if anyone can offer the exact quote please do ) sadly we cant simply sue someone for starving a country or entrapping them into debt (as will happen to egypt if they not villigent) after all the person is doing their job and following proceedure. So the weapon of choice has to be discreditation and get them out of the job - even if khan (dont think thats his birth name) is innocent of any wrong doing against that maid - cool someone got him - if he ends up in a cell with some one with a preference for middle aged men then woo hoo the punishement fits the original crime
