Since 2008 Kanellos has been fighting with the Greece people, and he always stood his ground on the frontline. Meet Kanellos...

Kanellos is a stray dog, the blue collar that he is wearing symbolizes that he is a stray that has been neutered. Usually dogs do not like events like this, but for some reason he always shows up on every demonstration, has a facebook site and has become the icon of the Greek revolution.

Loukanikos (sausage) aka 'Riot Dog' has been seen in Greek riots for three years now apparently but his activist's instincts are not restricted to economic policies alone.

In the video below you can clearly see that he was in fact instrumental in ending the apartheid in America, was a worthy and respected hero of the Battle of Thermopylae (the 300 'and one' Spartans), bravely fought many tigers and sent many a skilled Roman Gladiator to their gods in the Coliseum, was Mad Max's trusted companion and even stood defiantly halting a line of tanks in Tiananmen Square.

Even though he has been neutered, he has far more balls than congress.

This dog has a lot of heart. Somebody should change that blue collar for a nice leather one and give him a good home.

Very well said, Hattie. I find this dog very inspiring. Who knows, may be at the end of this process he will find a loving home. he surely deserves it. Bravo Kanellos!

It seems the most popular theory is that he is called Loukanikos but there was indeed a brave 'riot dog' called Kanellos which many say was killed by 'the man' for inspiring people. Look at the Wikipedia link below. Perhaps Loukanikos is the ghost of Kanellos? Or a ghostly possession come back to haunt the monied plutocracy?

"Kanellos (Greek: Κανέλλος) meaning "cinnamon" was a stray dog that resided on the streets of Athens, Greece. Greek photographers capturing riot footage started to notice the dog when he kept appearing in their negatives.

The dog died of natural causes in 2008, contrary to reports that he was captured by the Greek regime government forces on June 20, 2011 and killed later that day because he symbolized the strength of the people."

Here is a video from 2007 of brave Kanellos. There is a resemblance to the modern day hero 'Loukanikos';

A song for Kanellos, the riot dog Τραγούδι για σ. Κανέλο

God rest his soul. We love you Kanellos.

The blue collar is put on all stray dogs by the Greek authorities to show that he has already been neutered.

I think we should neuter all the members of the IMF (International Misery Fund) and issue them with blue collars.

Thanks for the article and video, Judith... Scott, you certainly deserve a bunch of green stars for your posts. According to one other post, Kanellos is buried in Athens and his grave is tended faithfully by the people. May his soul rest in peace... he was one hell of a dog!

Awww I am so glad Kanellos's grave is tended! Thank you for sharing that with us and for your kind appreciation of the previous posts. I think this is nature's way of showing her appreciation and support for the brave protestors in their battle for justice.

Loukanikos is also clearly with the people. Even 'dumb' animals have more sense than to collaborate with the IMF and world banksters and their police state bully boys.

May Allah (subhanahu wa ta'ala) protect all the righteous protesters especially those who have no 'human' rights at all. 'Allaahummastajib lana

Just goes to show how much smarter animals are than people!! This brave little pooch knows a bad thing when he sees it, that's for sure!! I'm surprised that even the toxic smoke he's running around in hasn't even deterred him. Wow!!
