TORTURED Baby P was seen SIXTY times by health or social workers during the eight months in which he was brutally abused.

The 17-month-old tot had more than FIFTY injuries or bruises.

When he was seen by a doctor two days before he died, he had a broken back, eight fractured ribs and was paralysed from the waist down.

Yet NO ONE realised the danger he was in. And NO ONE saved him.

He was on the child protection register of Haringey Council in North London - the same authority that failed to help doomed eight-year-old Victoria Climbie in the case that shocked the nation in 2000.

Tiny Baby P — hollow-cheeked and with his curly hair shaved off — died in his blood-spattered cot hours after he was punched so hard in the mouth he swallowed a bottom tooth.

That was probably the blow that finally killed him, causing a neck injury that affected his breathing, the Old Bailey heard yesterday.

Bloodstained ... pictures of toddler's clothing
shown to trial jury as evidence

Many in the court wept as the full horror of Baby P’s fate unfolded. They were told how the tot’s jobless stepdad, a 32-year-old sadist who cannot be named, tortured the mite to “toughen him up”.

The child’s 27-year-old mother, who also cannot be named, and paedophile lodger Jason Owen, 36, stood by as the abuse went on.

The jury found the stepdad — a collector of Nazi memorabilia including knives — guilty of causing or allowing Baby P’s death. He was cleared of murder as jurors could not agree on which of the three adults caused all the tot’s injuries.

The Sun can reveal he was once arrested on suspicion of torturing his dying gran to force her to change her will. No charges were pressed.

Baby P’s mother, described as a hardcore porn-watching “slob,” admitted allowing him to die.

Horror ... cop image of injuries
National Front member Owen, who joined the pair in their filthy council house with his 15-year-old girlfriend, was convicted of the same charge. All three face up to 14 years’ jail.

Baby P’s back was broken by being forced over a bent knee or banister, the court heard.

His ears were torn where he had been lifted off the ground and fingernails, fingertips and a toenail were missing. He had lesions on his scalp — and his lips were ripped.

The stepdad also “trained” Baby P to sit on the floor with his head between his legs for half an hour until he clicked his fingers. Police images of the tot’s injuries and stained clothes were shown to jurors.

Prosecuting QC Sally O’Neill told how a family friend revealed the depth of the abuse as the child was used like a punchbag.

She said the stepdad would “pick him up by his throat, punch him and spin him around on the computer chair until he fell off”.

Time after time, social workers noticed marks on the boy’s skin. But they fell for a pack of lies they were told by the mum. She claimed Baby P was a “head-banger” who kept bumping into hard objects.

They did not see through her even though she smeared CHOCOLATE over his injuries to conceal them.

The blunders continued even after the mother was arrested on suspicion of assaulting Baby P. The child was handed to a friend. But social workers soon returned him to his mum. He died the day after she was told she would face NO charges.

No one realised the stepdad was living in the house even though three dogs were there, including a rottweiler owned by the brute.

Police said they would have objected if they had known either man was there. The £110,000-a-year head of Haringey Children’s Services refused to resign last night — as it emerged SHE had led an “independent” review of the case. Sharon Shoesmith concluded NONE of her social workers should be sacked.

She blamed paediatrician Sabah Alzayyat, the doctor who failed to notice the tot’s broken back.

She said two social workers and a lawyer had received written warnings but refused to name them.

Child protection charity Kidscape called for “heads to roll” and said: “This child was seen 60 times and yet nobody did a thing. It’s pathetic.”

Children’s Minister Beverley Hughes announced a nationwide review of child protection services.

Today Ms Hughes said further examination was needed of the senior management levels of Haringey Council to see if anyone should take responsibility for the death of Baby P.

Ms Hughes said she believed the chief executive of Haringey and councillors needed to look at whether anyone at a higher level should be held accountable.

“I think the council has a responsibility, it is an elected body, it has the responsibility to ask itself the question, in the light of this case, whether there is an accountability at another level in the management of this case,” she told GMTV.

It is inconceivable that this child was not immediately removed from these monsters after his FIRST INJURY...this breaks my heart. I hope ALL INVOLVED, including the morons who should have intervened and never did, get long jail sentences.

Just sick--and yet no one will be held accountable for allowing this to happen? I find that incredible and know now that the same thing will happen to another child. How many dead tortured babes does it take before someone notices that there are heartless, inept people running child protective services. Once I calm down a little you better believe I will write a letter--I'm being nice here I won't be so nice to them.

OMG, this poor tot was failed by everyone, so sad...
his mom, Owen and the stepdad should be locked in a tiny, rat infested, damp, dark, smelly, nasty, cages for the rest of their lives, with hot oil thrown on them occasionally for shits & giggles, that will satisfy their fascination with pain!!! the social workers should be fired, end of it!! if you can't see torture this obvious, you have no business working with children....message written......OMG

Everyone who came in contact with this child, regardless of what organization they work for, should be suspended from duty until they can be thoroughly investigated. It is inconceivable that there are this many careless adults not doing their jobs, but that appears to be exactly what happened. So sad!

How very, very sad. The baby should have been given up for adoption at birth. There are so many out there who could have given this child a loving and caring home. this woman should have a complete hysterectomy to prevent her from ever doing this to another child.

As a former child abuse investigator, I can't tolerate that none of those people could detect abuse. Either they don't know how to detect abuse and were not trained, or alot were ignoring it. Hospitals are mandated in this country to call the police for abuse. I never seen such a screwed up case.

Right now my heart is beating up into my throat and I can't hardley breath, I can see this tiny baby being beaten and abused. These people I hand over to Saten himself for they took this innocent baby and he had no idea why he was feeling all this pain. Right at this moment it would not pay for me to put my eye's on none of these people, sometimes I wish it could be and eye for and eye. I would go to prison but they can kill a innocent baby and be free!!! What is wrong with these people there and here for it does happen here too I know it does. My heart so breaking into I can say no more. I want these people in prison for life and I will write this letter for this baby boy at leaset he will know people cared and love him enough to put these monsters away for him. Thanks Kat

I feel ill after reading this. I will write, I promise that, but first I need to collect myself to be able to actually say what needs saying without explatives and hopes for people to go choke and suffer over this, it is a dirty travesty that innocent children are being treated so terribly, and the ppeople who are supposed to step in and defend them are unable to do their jobs competantly. I know not all child case workers are like that, but htere seem to be many that are these days. My heart breaks for that baby and all babies and children who die at the hands of adults in that way. I'd like to say that my religious beliefs comfort me becaue all children are taken into God's arms, but I am too enraged to even aknowledge that right now. So thank you for posting this in hopes that it will be a step towards ending the abuse and murder of chidren.

Perhaps now all of you can understand
why I write non-stop about waiting to have children.

The reasons are endless & valid.......
My motto so to speak is "what is the hurry?"

Isn't there something or anything
you can accomplish in your youthful years
so you are prepared with
patience & maturity to be a parent
who is emotionally mature?

Can you wait a year or maybe five?

What is the hurry?

Noted with such sadness for Baby P. Thank you for the article Kat I've taken details and will write a letter to Gordon Brown tonight and fax it.

Not only do those three responsible (whether they inflicted the injuries, or just stood by and allowed it) for the despicable abuse to this innocent baby need to face justice, but also all of those in the health and social services who saw Baby P and yet failed to safeguard him!

He should have been removed from these sadistic monsters when he first showed up with injuries, that were obviously abuse.

Yes, sadly it does go on all over the world, but no matter where we live we have a responsibility to protect the defenseless and voiceless. We can not let Baby P's death be in vain. This story needs to be posted to all of our friends and actioned.

I am feeling sick to my stomach now, I had such a hard time to read this! These three people should get life! The agencies should be held accountable for NOT PROTECTING this innocent child. 60 times this child was seen!!!!!! and not one person did anything about it!!!Everyone turned their heads and walked away from this poor little child!!That seems to be the thing now a days, and it's never changed, everyone turning their heads!! What ever happened to having a heart? Or standing up for truth? What about morals or obligations to report abuse? The justice system is for the abusers and the victims are re-victimized or in a lot of cases- "they die"! Why is a child not protected? "Adults protect other things like money or politics or plain and bluntly, they think only of themselves! How are we to have a healthy future when our children of yesterday and today have and or will be abused, AND the system wasn't and is NOT their for them today? How are they going to live their lives after this? That's even IF they survive!! Do you think they are going to grow into a healthy future? "They are GOD'S Children" We are GOD'S children, yet we fail "their innocent, pure, helpless, unconditional little humans"! We were once a little human ourselves, how was your childhood? Would you have wanted someone there to protect you? I know I wanted someone there to protect me, (and that didn't happen) We MUST remember "LIFE" and how important it is for us, how important it is to protect our children and SPEAK UP, GIVE OUR VOICE, LET IT BE KNOWN THAT NO CHILD WILL BE UNNOTICED, NO CHILD WILL BE UNPROTECTED, NO CHILD WILL WALK ALONE, NO CHILD WILL BE UNLOVED. WE WILL HOLD THEIR HAND, WE WILL LISTEN, WE WILL LOVE THEM UNCONDITIONALY, WE WILL NEVER TURN OUR HEADS AGAIN, FOR OUR CHILDREN ARE OUR FUTURE! They give us a smile and warm our hearts, they show us how to forgive each other, they laugh with life, even though it maybe hard for them, they show us how to be a child again and dance and play when our world is falling apart, they don't take life so seriously, instead they change their situation and find something else to occupy their mind. Most of all "THEY FEEL" they feel with their hearts naturally. Now, how can we say we can't protect "our little golden eggs" They are priceless, and how do we take care of priceless things? We put them in a safe place and guard them! So, lets do that, lets get together and protect OUR CHILDREN!

Your Friend,

This was so hard to read. How could this baby be seen 60 times & no one do anything? Heartless, uncaring monsters. Heads certainly do need to roll, an innocent baby was tortured & killed because no one cared enough including the mother that's the worse part the mother not caring. Animals protect their young better then this piece of garbage.

THE Sun today demands justice for Baby P — and vows not to rest until those disgracefully ducking blame for failing the tot are SACKED.
Baby P PetitionThe fact that Baby P was allowed to die despite 60 visits from Haringey Social Services is a national disgrace.

I believe that ALL the social workers involved in the case of Baby P, including Sharon Shoesmith, Maria Ward and Gillie Christou should be sacked - and never allowed to work with vulnerable children again.

I call on Beverley Hughes, the Children's Minister, and Ed Balls, the Education Secretary, to ensure that those responsible are removed from their positions immediately.

I also demand that the doctor and health visitor involved with Baby P, Dr Sabah Al-Zayyat and Paulette Thomas, should also lose their jobs.

I call on the General Medical Council to ensure that they do.

This is a petition to get all those sacked that ignored all the signs of this poor little fellow's abuse.

This child was failed at every turn? Why? Because people never want to step up to the forefront and make the moral decision and be vocal about the crime. Why? Because they are to cowardly to be human beings. Why stake their career on a guess? Why the hell not? If you make the "choice" to be a caregiver, a healer a medical professional and you "choose" not to step up and do the right thing...regardless what you do or who you are...then you are a failure as a human being. I have no sympathy for cowards who hide behind excuses...and that is what this is. Total excuses for human failure to do the right thing.
I hope to hell these people who made the conscience choice to ignore this childs suffering will never have a moments peace or good sleep until they admit that they made the choice to NOT ACT in the best interest for another living being. Shame on them. How can they look at themselves in the mirror everyday, or into the eyes of anyone after their failure to be a human being?

Pam F (221)

I have no words - this is beyond the comprehension of any normal, decent human being.

The social workers who failed this tortured little soul are guilty of aiding and abetting murder.
And the unspeakable dregs of humanity who did this are ALL guilty of the most horric imaginable murder.
And it's inconceivable anyone could escape resonsibility because the jurors could not agree

Tearfully noted. I have tried to send a message and they ask for a UK postal code. Unfortunately I don't live in the UK. I will search for PM Gordon Browns contact information. This should have never happened to him. You know that being seen 60 times by the pediatrician something would have been noticed. They all looked the other way while this beautiful innocent child was tortured to death. They all need to be held accountable.

I found this while searching for PM Brown's contact information.

There were angry and passionate scenes in the House of Commons today as Conservative leader David Cameron demanded that more action be taken in the tragic case of the brutal treatment of “Baby P”.

Amid the clashes the Speaker Michael Martin was forced to intervene telling MPs to “stop shouting across the chamber” and remember the issue was “a little child who has gone”.

At one point Mr Brown said: “I do regret making a party political issue of this.”

Cameron responded by saying that was a “frankly cheap” response to “perfectly reasonable questions” and demanded he withdraw the comment.

Childrens’ secretary Ed Balls has now ordered a review into the London Borough of Haringey’s childrens’ services who were responsible for the child, which was welcomed by both Conservative and Liberal Democrat spokespeople.

The full session of PMQs is available to watch on the Downing Street Web site.

Thank you Kat Mosi.

Yes we must all be a voice for our children. I thank each & every one of you for all of the vital information on how to contact the higher ups on this disgusting display of humans to a baby. I will also sign the petition for this beautiful Baby P., which should never have been tortured endlessly in his short life.

Sub-humanes should never, ever have children, when they can't even take of their own selves. These animals that call themselves Mom & Dad are vicious creatures lurking among the innocent, preying upon them, just looking for something evil to do.

This has got to be one of the worst cases done to a BABY that I have seen. I only wish that I was there to save this beautiful child of the lord. He was screaming for help from the very same people that saw him over 60 times and did absolutely NOTHING to save him. I am appalled, and angry that these people even work in the field that they chose. They are supposed to notice when a child is being beat, my lord, especially a broken back? What the hell is wrong with these idiots? I would have reported the Mother, Father, Stepdad...whomever was involved in the torture, beatings, and manipulation, & finally killing of this innocent baby with a blow to his head {which makes me totally naucious} without having any remorse for it!

I can only pray to our Great Spirit that these vicious animals get life in prison without a chance of parole, and the people that were involved that could have saved Baby P's life at one point get a prison term also, they are just as responsible as the parents & stepdad are.

For the idiot Stepdad & Mom {who allowed this to happen to her baby boy}, I hope your time in prison is well spent among the prisoners that hate baby or child killers, your time is up with them! What goes around comes around, you will get yours for doing the evil things you choose of your own free will to do to that "INNOCENT LITTLE BABE" the lord's child now once again.

R.I.P. now young one, for no more torture or harm can come to you ever again sweetie. You are NOW PROTECTED! I am sorry your short life on Earth was so horrendous, but this Earth is filled with EVIL DOERS such as your parents!
TY Kat for exposing such a horrific crime, especially to a baby! Very sadly noted my friend.

In the arms of the angels Baby P. you are loved and will not be forgotten little one.

We can make a difference...Peace,

My prayers are going out to that little boy and may he finally rest in peace and be surounded by love. I also pray that this is not going to happend again.

How many more innocent babies have to die a terrible death? Baby P is not the first and wont be the last. Its so easy for social services to pass the book and blame others. The mother or should I say monster of this poor baby allegedly told friends yesterday she would be home for Christmas!1) how does a women like this have friends? 2) I hope she means Christmas 3000
I pray they all rot in prison.

Be good to your children if you decide to have them.

Teach your children well........And pass the following on & on & on:

Children Learn What They Live (2005)
The original poem was written by Dorothy Nolte.....This is an updated version.

by Duen Hsi Yen

If a child lives with criticism, he learns to feel discouraged
If a child lives with hostility, he learns to feel angry
If a child lives with violence, he learns to feel afraid
If a child lives with dishonesty, he learns to feel suspicious
If a child lives with judgement, he learns to feel guilty
If a child lives with ridicule, he learns to feel ashamed
If a child lives with disorder, he learns to feel confused
If a child lives with disappointment, he learns to feel helpless
If a child lives with silence, he learns to feel lonely

If a child lives with protection, he learns to feel safe
If a child lives with honesty, he learns to feel trustful
If a child lives with peace, he learns to feel calm
If a child lives with sharing, he learns to feel thankful
If a child lives with understanding, he learns to feel encouraged
If a child lives with laughter, he learns to feel happy
If a child lives with creativity, he learns to feel inspired
If a child lives with choice, he learns to feel free
If a child lives with community, he learns to feel supported
If a child lives with accomplishment, he learns to feel confident
If a child lives with meaning, he learns to feel fulfilled
If a child lives with love, he learns to feel tender

If all of us could or would raise children according to this poem, just think how much they would care about the sea, animals, plants, the land, and most of all each other.

Personal Philosophy On Children:
I firmly believe having one or two children is all anyone of us should ever have, but if you do not want children then that is your right! The state of the world population is staggering in how many of us there are.
To decide not to have or limit how many gives you a chance to really get to know yourself, your children as individuals if they are spaced well. My children are eighten years apart, I did not plan it that way but, am grateful and God gave me exactly what I wanted, a boy & a girl.
I also am adament about waiting as long as possible to have children, mid-thirties is perfect to me now as I look back on when I had my two children.

To hold off as long as possible gives you a chance to really explore what you want.

THE vile mother of Baby P has given birth to another little girl – while she was remanded in prison over her abused toddler's death.
The new baby was taken into care hours after she was born – under police guard – in March.
She is reported to be taking legal action to gain access to her latest child.
Today The Sun has demanded justice for Baby P — and vows not to rest until those disgracefully ducking blame for failing the tot are SACKED.
Four social workers and the doctor who could not spot the 17-month-old had a broken back are named and shamed on the right.
As ALL defiantly carry on working today we call on our army of outraged readers to join our crusade.
We urge you to sign our petition for them to be kicked out of their jobs.
So far more than 20,000 of you have signed up demanding that the workers are axed.
Today Haringey Council offered an apology for the horror that shocked the nation – but we say this is not yet enough.
Councillor Liz Santry, Cabinet Member for Children and Young People, said: “It is a matter of the deepest sorrow that Baby P died in Haringey."
She also welcomed an urgent child welfare review which was under way today in the borough, ordered by Children’s Secretary Ed Balls.
Ofsted, the Commission for Healthcare Audit and Inspection and the Chief Inspector of Constabulary are carrying out the much-needed probe.
Mr Balls said the review – due to make an initial report by December 1 – would involve a “thorough inspection” of all services responsible for safeguarding children in Haringey.
“The case of Baby P is tragic and appalling,” he said.
“It is our duty to take whatever action is needed to ensure that such a tragedy doesn’t happen again, that lessons are learned and that children in Haringey are safe.”
Failure ... Dr Sabah Al Zayyat and, right, social worker Maria Ward
Last night — in the wake of an attempted cover-up by North London’s Haringey Council after Baby P was tortured to death by his evil parents — it emerged one of the social workers was blasted eight years ago over the Victoria Climbie horror.
The public inquiry into the death of the eight-year-old — also tortured to death in Haringey — found Sylvia Henry put an unsigned and undated note in Victoria’s file when working for the NSPCC-run Tottenham Child and Family Centre.
The note said the youngster’s case was closed because the family had moved out of the borough. That was a LIE.
The note had been placed there to cover up lack of action.
Passed the buck ... head of children's services Sharon Shoesmith and, right, supervisor Gillie Christou who returned tot to mum
The inquiry by Lord Laming was meant to lead to better protection for kiddies like Baby P, who was on an “at risk” register.
But despite being seen SIXTY times by health or social workers the helpless mite died in agony with 50 injuries after eight months of torture.
Two days before he was found killed in his blood-spattered cot, woman doctor Sabah Al Zayyat astonishingly failed to diagnose eight broken ribs and a broken back paralysing him from the waist down.
Social worker Henry had taken part in the crucial decision to return Baby P to his 27-year-old mother — on bail for assaulting him.
Horrific ... Baby P's injuries
An Old Bailey jury was unable to agree whether the tot was finally killed by his evil mum, his sadistic stepdad aged 32 — both of whom cannot be identified — or lodger Jason Owen, 36.
Last night all three were behind bars, awaiting sentence for “causing or allowing” the baby’s death — as more of Haringey council’s arrogance was exposed.
Six months after the horror, a review of social services there was vetoed by head of children’s services Sharon Shoesmith who cited “good performance”.
Shoesmith also chaired a probe into Baby P’s case — which she then claimed was “independent”.
She concluded no staff should be sacked, even though the gullible social worker in charge of Baby P’s case — Maria Ward, 39 — was even fooled by chocolate smears hiding his injuries.
Her married supervisor Gillie Christou, 50, gave the OK for the tot to stay at home.
Haringey only gave cops every document on the case after being ordered to by the trial judge.
Police sources said “boxes and boxes” of evidence suddenly appeared in court.
The council hired a PR firm to give “media training” to staff in the case — and battled to keep them out of the public eye.
Baby P’s natural dad even claimed he was gagged by threats of “legal ramifications”.
A senior legal source blasted: “A***-covering appears to be institutional at Haringey.”

I am in shock as well as anyone here with a heart. It is sad and sick that people would just pass the buck on and leave their responsability to others. In the nursing field I work we are taught to report EVERYTHING suspicious bacause chances are no one else is going to do it. This is a prime example and you can see the heart breaking outcome. May Baby P rest with angels now, and the devil take his "parents".

You all such wonderful caring people. I am inspired and feel so blessed to read your words of anger, disappointment and frustration about this tragedy. This child never needed to die...EVER. There was never a reason for this to happen...EVER. It tears my heart up, and I know it tears all of your hearts up to be so helpless and unable to step in and do something even after the fact of the loss of an innocent life. None of you want to turn your back and walk away from the reality of human failure. Instead you step up to the plate and work as a "FAMILY" to try and seek justice for a life that had such promise in a country far away.
Do you know just how wonderful you all are?
Your the excellent exampple of what a family is...*S*
And that is so wonderful....You give me faith in the belief of goodness in people....and there are the best of the best right here on Care 2....*S*
You all Rock!

What Famuly should be....

* "Everyone deserves the best start in life, which is what UNICEF is working to provide the world's most vulnerable children. Education is essential to a child's development. I hope that as an Ambassador I can encourage people to join UNICEF's mission to make education a reality for children throughout the world."
-- Clay Aiken
* "UNICEF is working for the survival of children worldwide. What can we do to get more Americans committed to the cause?" "
-- Clay Aiken
In the past, children were all too often viewed more as property than people. Many victories for children's rights have been won in the last 100 years, such as child labor laws, protecting children from having to work long hours in unsafe conditions; public education, allowing all children to have access to learning; and laws preventing child abuse. But tthere is still much to do in protecting children's rights around the world.
-- Robert Alan
* "There is no trust more sacred than the one the world holds with children. There is no duty more important than ensuring that their rights are respected, that their welfare is protected, that their lives are free from fear and want and that they can grow up in peace."
-- Kofi Annan
The ideal of "a family" is one of the most basic models of what a better world can be like. In a perfect family, the members are joined by bonds of love; they help each other meet all of their physical and emotional needs. Of course no family is perfect, but a family that strives together to become a "family for a better world" can help each member to feel more fulfilled and better about themselves and the world. They also provide a real-life example of how the human family can work together to create a better world.
-- Robert Alan
If tolerance, respect and equity permeate family life, they will translate into values that shape societies, nations and the world.
-– Kofi Annan
The lack of emotional security of our American young people is due, I believe, to their isolation from the larger family unit. No two people - no mere father and mother - as I have often said, are enough to provide emotional security for a child. He needs to feel himself one in a world of kinfolk, persons of variety in age and temperament, and yet allied to himself by an indissoluble bond which he cannot break if he could, for nature has welded him into it before he was born.
~ Pearl S. Buck
"In family life, love is the oil that eases friction, the cement that binds closer together, and the music that brings harmony."
-- Eva Burrows
There is nothing more important than a good, safe, secure home.
-- Rosalynn Carter
Family is the first social unit for developing the qualities of the heart. A true family grows and moves through life together, inseparable in the heart. Whether a biological family or an extended family of people attracted to each other based on heart resonance and mutual support, the word "family" implies warmth, a place where the core feelings of the heart are nurtured. Family values represent the core values and guidelines that parents and family members hold in high regard for the well-being of the family. Sincere family feelings are core heart feelings. They are the basis for true family values. While we have differences, we remain "family" by virtue of our heart connection. Family provides necessary security and support, and acts as a buffer against external problems. A family made up of secure people generates a magnetic power that can get things done. They are the hope for real security in a stressful world.
-- Doc Childre and Howard Martin, The HeartMath Solution
To understand your parents' love, you must raise children yourself.
-- Chinese proverb
To put the world right in order, we must first put the nation in order; to put the nation in order, we must first put the family in order; to put the family in order, we must first cultivate our personal life; we must first set our hearts right.

Family is not an important thing, it's everything.

To nourish children and raise them against odds is in any time, any place, more valuable than to fix bolts in cars or design nuclear weapons.

Families are about love overcoming emotional torture.

The best inheritance a parent can give to his children is a few minutes of their time each day."
-- M. Grundler
If we are too busy, if we are carried away every day by our projects, our uncertainty, our craving, how can we have the time to stop and look deeply into the situation-our own situation, the situation of our beloved one, the situation of our family and of our community, and the situation of our nation and of the other nations?

The happiest moments of my life have been the few which I have passed at home in the bosom of my family. ~Thomas Jefferson
The happiness of the domestic fireside is the first boon of Heaven; and it is well it is so, since it is that which is the lot of the mass of mankind.
~Thomas Jefferson, 1813
The family is the corner stone of our society. More than any other force it shapes the attitude, the hopes, the ambitions, and the values of the child. And when the family collapses it is the children that are usually damaged. When it happens on a massive scale the community itself is crippled. So, unless we work to strengthen the family, to create conditions under which most parents will stay together, all the rest — schools, playgrounds, and public assitance, and private concern — will never be enough.
-- Lyndon Johnson
The goals of our public welfare program must be positive and constructive. [The welfare program] must stress the integrity and preservation of the family unit. It must contribute to the attack on dependency, juvenile delinquency, family breakdown, illegitimacy, ill health, and disability. It must reduce the incidence of these problems, prevent their occurrence and recurrence, and strengthen and protect the vulnerable in a highly competitive world.
-- John F. Kennedy
Becoming responsible adults is no longer a matter of whether children hang up there pajamas or put dirty towels in the hamper, but whether they care about themselves and others -- and whether they see everyday chores as related to how we treat this planet.
-- Eda Leshan

Nobody has ever before asked the nuclear family to live all by itself in a box the way we do. With no relatives, no support, we've put it in an impossible situation.

Our most basic instinct is not for survival but for family. Most of us would give our own life for the survival of a family member, yet we lead our daily life too often as if we take our family for granted.

I feel my family's needs are a priority. I'm not comfortable with the idea of serving the many and ignoring my family."
-- Susan Sarandon
Feelings of worth can flourish only in an atmosphere where individual differences are appreciated, mistakes are tolerated, communication is open, and rules are flexible -- the kind of atmosphere that is found in a nurturing family.
-- Virginia Satir
American families have always shown remarkable resiliency, or flexible adjustment to natural, economic, and social challenges. Their strengths resemble the elasticity of a spider web, a gull's skillful flow with the wind, the regenerating power of perennial grasses, the cooperation of an ant colony, and the persistence of a stream carving canyon rocks. These are not the strengths of fixed monuments but living organisms. This resilience is not measured by wealth, muscle or efficiency but by creativity, unity, and hope. Cultivating these family strengths is critical to a thriving human community.
-- Ben Silliman
However sugarcoated and ambiguous, every form of authoritarianism must start with a belief in some group's greater right to power, whether that right is justified by sex, race, class, religion, or all four. However far it may expand, the progression inevitably rests on unequal power and airtight roles within the family. -- Gloria Steinem "

14 years for these monsters who systematically tortured and eventually killed this little baby boy...with good behaviour they will be out in five years under licence...human life has become cheapened by this sentence...unlike sexual offenders they will not be on any register when they get out and will not have to report any change of address or other words they can and will simply vanish.

What bothers me is that folk like this are frequently repeat offenders...or will become them.

Of course it is always easy to be wise after the event with regard to the Child Protection Agencies...but they are frequently working under intolerable strain without proper or experienced supervision. With posts not being filled one worker could have three or even four times the recommended 'caseloads' and too little time to enquire too deeply into every injury...and little kids do get knocks and abrasions from their frequent staggerings and play or lack of attention by adults...what is so difficult to spot is the patterns especially as the child may be seen by several different people from agencies that have no proper liaison.

Child Protection in the UK was set up after the death of little Maria Caldwell in 1969...many of the recommendations contained in the original report have still to be set up properly in an atmosphere of constant cut-backs and top heavy management structures. Britain fails those like Baby P due to lack of Preventative Services. that is because there is no reliable service indicators that can measure how effective such services are. Baby P will not the last I fear of the victims of overstretched reactive services.

I have a question which may seem dumb to a few.

Why do we always say" bring someone to justice?"
Would it not seem more logical to say punishment?

Some hot just doesn't sound right to me.
Also.....This will not be last story of
this kind. With billions of us here on
earth the odds are there will be many
many more.

What I would like to know is HOW can this moron abuser of a mother get pregnant so fast after the abusing & killing of her first boy... & how can the system there even allow such a life out of this.. will this abuse of this beautiful baby go unnoticed as the first ..cuz everyone sure turned the other way when this came.. I guess the legal system didn't think a mother or anyone would do such a horrible act against this baby.. I have seen other instances where the culprits get off free cuz the legal system couldn't believe one could do such a act towards there belongings.. people are so clever to hide what they feel from the ones that should see it in the open.. these people need to be trained better... to see what is in the heads of these hideous people.. nothing would shock me any more..

Here is an EXCELLENT reason for sterilization ... All three of them, should NEVER be allowed out of prison, let alone to reproduce! This is the most horrific case of abuse I have ever heard of.

Personally, I think anyone convicted of such cruelty to a child, should be executed, with NO CHANCE OF APPEAL! That little boy had NO ONE to appeal to -- everyone let him down.

So sad! Rest in peace, little one. Your suffering is over. May the angels watch over you!
