nobody who has smoked marijuana, or who smokes it has ever gotten this illness. if people would put their prejudice in their back pockets we can do away with this illness.

dementia is more than being forgetful. if you have a loved one with dementia, you know it affects everyone. much more research needs to be done as our population gets older.
(i have no idea what justin vale's comment has to do with dementia.)

Marijuana prevents Alzheimer's? Perhaps promising, but nothing has been conclusively proven so far. Guess I should have encouraged my dear mother to smoke pot...or not. Did you know that cats and dogs can suffer from dementia as well? Guess I should have been adding some to their kibble. There some types of marijuana that help illnesses without the usual mental side effects. Children with difficult to control epilepsy might soon get that form and some cancer patients choose it, preferring to retain mental clarity. I doubt most marijuana users would use it to possibly prevent Alzheimer's if it didn't affect their thought processes in the meantime in a different way. btw Cannabis contains carcinogens so it is not without its own risks.

Yes, more research is vital, especially with such a large aging population. The odds of having some form of dementia increases with age.
