The palm oil industry has grown dramatically over the past few decades and palm oil now accounts for a quarter of global vegetable oil consumption and nearly 60% of the global trade in vegetable oils. In the U.S. alone, palm oil imports have jumped 485%

I post a lot about Palm Oil. (PO) I have to say that I am concerned, really concerned. Since making a commitment not to consume or use palm oil in any way, I have to admit that I am afraid. Afraid that we may not be able to get people to stop eating products with PO in it.

I started to get negative feelings about PO yesterday. Still have them unfortunately. Ton's more people will have to make the same comitment. Stop using/eating Palm Oil! Can it happen? Are we activists wasting our time? Wasting our time trying to educate the public? This is not easy getting people to give up a large amount of products, snacks, crappy foods! People will have to make major changes in their lives like eating healthier. Saving lives. Am I asking for a lot?

Has anyone noticed ALL of the products that use Palm Oil! Way to many! I do have to say that I am eating healthier foods since I stopped consuming PO. Yay!

I will continue to fight for rainforests and for all of the animals that are being affected by the destruction of their habitats. With a glimmer of hope, I will not give up until I have no choice, until defeated. Will you do the same?

I hope that it isn't too late. Only through continued campaigning and protesting will people take notice. Its an uphill struggle but I believe in struggling for what is right.

Well ,I don't think you(we) are wasting your time ..Every second your mind is in this "caring ,wanting to do something for the better" state is really a great gain..for you .So do what you can and hope for the best but don't expect anything...What matter is that you have a good intention. Things aren't looking on the brighter side with humanity going 10 billions in some decades ..that is a looot more hungry tummys to feed.if it is not palm oil it will be something else. These 10 billion people have to eat something (we need ccal to survive - that is the reality)..So OVERPOPULATION is the main problem ,the palm oil industries etc.are just a BY-PRODUCT
due to overpopulation! Unless scientist find a way humans to photosynthesize sun energy like plant ..future problems will be becoming bigger i think!

It's not too late yet but at some point it will be. Palm growers must have limits set for them as they are greedy and don't give a damn about thee environment or the orangutans.

Almost ALL prepared cakes. cookies, pies, candy and nutella use palm oil. You may think you're off the hook for not buying it in a bottle, but if you're not reading labels, you're supporting the palm oil path of destruction.

True, janet f. I read labels and make most things from scratch and avoid using Palm Oil as this brings about too much destruction of the rain forests and its inhabitants.

Never think it's too late, but start doing something about it. Ban palm oil from your kitchen as much as possible by reading the labels. There will be similar products out there without the stuff.

Thank you for the comments.
Sometimes I feel like when I am blunt and tell how I really feel about something, I may get negative feedback. A chance I am willing to take. In this case, I really appreciate the positive flow of comments. Again, thank you for letting me express how I have been feeling.
What a great bunch of people you are!
