After a nightmare, Johan Huibers constructs a ship four stories tall and as long as a football field.

WOW! Incredible! I hope and pray that a flood never comes, and he can sail it to the London Olympics to show everyone. Really amazing, though. TY, Chaplain for this interesting post.

I'm betting the guy is going to make a lot of money off of religious people wanting to see his version of the Ark. If it is full scale, it is going to prove that Noah would NOT have been able to get two of EVERY kind of animal on that boat. It would have taken a ship the size of the Netherlands to accommodate that many animals. It is far more likely that if the story of Noah is true, he only took the animals that were indigenous to the part of the world where Noah lived and even then it would have presented a huge logistical problem storing all the food needed for those animals not to mention the people that went along for the ride.

Oh what a jerk. Ralph you have said everything I am thinking about this exercise. I look forward to him collecting all the animals and putting them on board to prove they could live together. And I look forward to him sailing it across the ocean. Unless he does so we will have no proof it is up to the job. My own bet it it will sink like a stone. And I wonder what his excuse will be?

I am a saddend to see that quite a few people have made less than kind remarks; what this guy chooses to do with his time and money is surely his business. Hopefully he believes in Christian values and will use the vessel to raise money for charitable ventures.

An unusual endeavor perhaps, but some of the criticisms here are a bit harsh. There are a lot worse things someone could do with their time!

I, personally, am opposed to anything that perpetuates these ridiculous Christian fairy tales. Call me when he has loaded two examples of every animal on the planet. Until then it's just a huge waste of time and money... Worse than NASCAR!

Give the man credit for imagination and determination. He is building something positive not destroying
