Emergency slaughter for the sweet Adelaide.

We have just been asked to save Adelaide, nice donkey in emergency slaughter.
It is already in the butcher who did not keep beyond 4 weeks and that calls for 250 euros, which must be added the cost of transportation and veterinary care.

We have until February 14 to raise the money of 650 euros.

Adelaide, born in 1994, is 17 and it is especially nice, which suggests she had a family life before. We do not know how she could get there but she wants to live.
She is microchipped and vaccinated.
Thank you all for your help: your clicks without the rescue of Adelaide would not be feasible. Thank you for you to raise it, we are his last chance!

You can help the animals also by promoting ActuAnimaux in Facebook of Twitter - or get one of their banners to your website, here: http://www.actuanimaux.com/espace-presse/nos-bannieres

It's fantastic to see how ActuAnimaux gathers more and more supporters - I've been following their site for about two months, and their record is now 369 723 daily clicks - let's help them get to their next goal of 400 000 clicks...

I remember when we went to New Hampshire, some years ago and visited a Beautiful well taken old Country-Style farm (Rockfeller(?) where I saw 2 "Sicilian Donkeys" that children could "Brush". A beautiful newly born young calf was there, still with his umbilical cord hanging. With long eyelashes, tender!!! I tried to caress his head... : he began sucking one of my fingers (like he would have done with his mother......) I WASN'T ABLE TO EATH VEAL ANYMORE!!!!!

Apologies to everyone. When I mention one Actuanimaux animal in need, I always mean to ask if everyone would click for all. I forgot to do that.

I had been focusing in on Jella (although I click for all), the elderly mare due to her advanced age and time she has been there, but Nicholas/Actuanimaux emailed me regarding a question I had about a donation, if I would consider it for Adelaide since her time is so short. Could I say no? Of course not.

Yes Gerald, I found it very sad that Adelaide's scheduled slaughter date is on Valentine's Day. I pray we can click away enough and watch the videos (which I think I also forgot to mention, so sorry but thanks Alison) daily to save her and her friends at Actuanimaux. They do also accept donations.

They also give credits for "SMS". Is that texting? I have to say I do not understand what it is unless perhaps textings. It seems SMS are counted in 2 countries.

My dear Henriette helped to put me on the right path with French translations on their website.
(((Hugs to Henriette)))...

When I correspond with Actuanimaux I now also use Google Translator Tool Bar. Some day I hope to learn to speak words in French and Italian. They are both beautiful languages.

I could not avoid sending out an SOS for Adelaide since I received the Actuanimaux email plea for her.

Thank you for your patience with me on this, for forwarding, continuing your wonderful daily clicks, and clicking on the videos so we can help save little Adelaide and all of her friends at Actuanimaux.

I click 5x daily for each animal or cause, the entire list. Bullfighting themes include 2, one against televising the horrific crime, and one against it i a region. The count-down of remaining clicks is upper right, while the causes are next to the image of the paw prints to the left at top. I also do the daily clicks here on CARE2 under the "Take Action" tab. Clicking to donate is free and simple. I hope all of these life forms find love and relief.

I know that not everyone will want to use this, but I use the Google Translation Tool Bar on Actuanimaux.

Here is the link for you to download:

http://www.google.com/toolbar/ff/index.html

I downloaded the Google translation tool bar. (I have it set to translate from French to English now. If I am on a site in another language, then I just put "from" that language to "English.)

Then I go to www.actuanimaux.com and once it loads I look up at my Google browser tool bar and I click on the little blue button beside it that says Translate. It takes a few minutes to load and translate, but that way you will have a translation tool you can use to translate petitions, news stories, web sites, in a lot of languages, etc. As you move from page to page you may need to click translate again.

I hope this helps and thanks again for helping save this precious little 17 year old donkey's life.

Awesome comment Brigitte! I sent you a greenie for your info on clicking in internet explorer and mozilla firefox!

I've been clicking on this site for months, please don't ask me what for as I don't know! But as it seems to help (names changing all the time) I'll click away every day - and I click on anything listed with a paw as that's a language I understand! Also used google translate but that takes too much time; sometimes you can click in the morning and evening, just check it out!

Stella (and all): when an animal's name disappears from the clicking list, it has got enough clicks - sometimes the clicks and direct donations are needed for special vet care, sometimes to generally sponsor his life in a shelter, in Adelaide's case to save her from slaughter. And there are cases where the animal is adopted to a forever home before the goal of clicks is reached. You can read about the "saved" animals from ActuAnimaux's blog. (I checked the donation page for Adelaide - in just 4 days they've already collected 63% of the money needed to save her!)

The four ways of helping are:
"Cliquez jusqu'à 5 fois par jour et par fiche. Ce sont les annonceurs publicitaires qui financent la cause !"
= Click up to 5 times per day and per animal/cause. Our advertisers fund them.

"Vidéos sponsorisées : chaque visionnage nous rapporte quelques centimes ! (limité à 3 visionnages/jour)"
= Sponsored videos: every view produces us a couple of cents (limited to 3 views/day).

"Envoyez autant de SMS que vous le souhaitez pour les animaux et/ou causes de votre choix !"
= Send as many SMS (text messages) as you like to animals and/or causes of your choice. (I think this is available only if you live in France, Belgium or Switzerland.)

"Faites un don sécurisé dédié à l'animal et/ou la cause de votre choix !"
= Make a secure donation for an animal and/or a cause of your choice.

If you want to know more about how ActuAnimaux site works, here's a presentation by their founder, animal activist Nicolas Biscaye: http://www.actuanimaux.com/qui-sommes-nous/presentation
and "Comment ça marche", how it works: http://www.actuanimaux.com/qui-sommes-nous/comment-ca-marche

I'm too lazy to translate it all word by word, but here's the idea in a nutshell: ActuAnimaux offers their site in use of animal protection organizations and shelters in France, Belgium and Switzerland. They need help to save or take care of abandoned animals - eg. orphaned wild animals, homeless pets, horses saved from slaughter - and some of these animals need special vet care. There are also some campaigns against bullfighting and for spreading awareness of animal welfare issues. When you're clicking for an animal, you can see on his site short information about his background and what the sponsorship is needed for, as well as the contact address of the organization/shelter taking care of him. And I already explained in my previous comment how the sponsorship works in practice and the four ways of helping. :)

Hi everyone

Some people have asked how their clicking generates money, this is what the site says about this in their FAQ's.

Q) How can a simple click on the form of an animal may participate in the sponsorship or her rescue?

A) By advertising for every click on the page of an animal, you bring up the banners. Advertisers pay to include these banners.
So when you open a page of advertising money you generate half of which is donated to the partner associations.
Your clicks can account for these visits, but you pay nothing!

If you want to be able to read it yourself, download the Google Toolbar as Ramona has suggested above, I have found this has made things so much easier. Here is the link again -

http://www.google.com/toolbar/ff/index.html

DON'T FORGET EVERYONE, PLEASE CLICK 5 TIMES EVERYDAY, IT IS A FEW MINUTES OF YOU TIME, BUT IT IS LIFE AND DEATH TO THESE POOR FURBABIES! Thank you.

Elizabeth, I checked ActuAnimaux's blog, but I couldn't find information about the sanctuary where Gena the bear is living - they just mentioned how they collected some extra money for him, and that's why his click count was negative for some weeks.

But Google saved the day: http://blog.ifaw.org/2009/07/07/rescued-bear-cub-ostakh-has-new-stepbrother-gena/ So he's been in bear sanctuary in Russia since May 2009. The sanctuary is supported by IFAW, and helps to rehabilitate Russian bear cubs orphaned by hunters so they can be released to protected forests. They're also campaigning for a ban on killing hibernating bears in Russia: http://www.ifaw.org/ifaw_france/join_campaigns/emergency_relief/sanctuaries_vital_havens_that_save_lives/rescuing_orphan_bear_cubs_--_russia/index.php

Carolyn click on FAQs then donations. Here is some info on checks or wire transfers:

Donations
I do not wish to make an online donation by check or wire transfer but is it possible?

Yes, it is quite possible.

In this case, it is necessary:

•Mention of the animal for which you wish to donate: it will be well assigned to the animal you have chosen.
•Establish your check to: FUND FOR THE PROTECTION OF ANIMALS (FPA) and send it by mail:
FUND FOR ANIMAL WELFARE
101 avenue du General Leclerc
75014 PARIS

As part of a transfer, please download the GDI Fund for Animal Welfare (FPA) to make your donation by bank transfer.

Please note that if an animal has already met the amount needed to rescue his or her sponsor, the surplus funds will be donated to other animals.

I have been clicking at this site since I found out about it recently. I am all for helping animals so don't take this the wrong way, but I find it rather disheartening that so many people do more to help animals than people. I recently asked Barbcat to post a story about clicking for a Mexican children's hospital and it didn't get a third of the responses that this story has. People will go crazy trying to help save these animals and yet a site to help provide hospital care for children doesn't even get a thousand clicks a day?! I'm sorry, but there is something wrong with this picture. Please click at http://www.giveaminute.org/ daily to help CHILDREN. Thank you!

Clicked 5 times and will again tomorrow. merci beaucoup for helping Adelaide. Lets give this donkey a chance to live his life out in dignity. We all have pets, but when it gets troublesome we discart them like they were never part of the family. I have a 17 year old Spitz, who is almost blind and deaf, also has fits. Sure he has seen better times, but I will never abandon him untill his last breath. It is a 24/7 commitment. Kids, remember that before you ask for a pet. My Spitz called Prinz became my responsibility after 4 weeks, 17 years ago, because my daughter and my wife lost interest after that short time. I respect his God given life and his dignity, and he knows that.
S'il vous plaît, les grenouilles sympathiques, donnez une chance à ce petit âne.

I "click" everyday on Care.2's ANIMAL RESCUE site, but I'm confused here. I don't understand a word of French as posted in the link provided. What is Adelaide's story? I wish I could personally save every needy animal out there, but I can't. If merely "clicking" help, gladly will do that! I didn't see where to do that.

I try to do my part to help animals by signing petitions, providing what knowledge and information I can to others to try to convince them to spay/neuter their dogs and cats, geld their horses, not breed mares, and if I had the money,I'd donate, but I don't have it to spare. Personally, I've rescued and/or adopted 5 cats that I have now, and dozens in the past, 1 dog (adopted from Petfinders) and recently, rescued and adopted a malnourished, starving TB mare who is eating me out of house & home (literally......she's eating my BARN)! Wish I could do more.

On behalf of Adelaide who is scheduled to be slaughtered by butchers on February 14 THANK YOU for sharing her plight and for clicking to save her life. Yes, even our mere clicks generate money for the rescuers.

I have posted the Google Translation Tool Bar link above, but I will post it again so anyone may go to Actuanimaux, see Adelaide's picture and her story:

Here is the Googld translation toolbar link for you to download:

http://www.google.com/toolbar/ff/index.html

(I have it set to translate from French to English now. If I am on a site in another language, then I just put "from" that language to "English.)

For those of you who don't download the translation toolbar, the instructions for where to click for Adelaide are on one of my above posts.

If you wonder what the 650 Euros translates to in your country's currency try going to www.ask.com and in the question box : 650 euros equals (your country's currency name)

Please click daily 5 times every 24 hours for all of Adelaide's animal friends and causes on Actuanimaux. It takes less than 5 minutes to click for all including donkeys, cats, dogs, birds, chimps, bears, AND for the bulls in Spain.

I have been told it has been letting people click 5 times using Internet Explorer browsers and another 5 times using Mozilla Firefox. It has sometimes been letting some people click 5 times in the early morning and another 5 times in the late evenings, but not always.

Update on Actuanimaux.com. Your clicks for Adelaide and her friends have saved the baby chimp, Loanga!

"Loanga, chimpanzee supported by the association HELP CONGO, just collect the 300 euros needed for his sponsorship. Your clicks, your viewings of videos, your sms and your donations have allowed the Loanga nice to be sponsored.

So the 18th animal to find sponsors through our website.

Thank you again for your engagement with us!

Thank you all!

Continue to mobilize to save a cat , save a dog , save a horse and / or save a wild animal . Sponsoring an animal is a simple, fast and free allowing to participate actively in the protection of animals !"

Actually, there's a WHOLE LIST of animals - parrots, horses, bulls - they all need help, just like Adelaide. When you've done your 5 clicks for her, click on the names where you see hers once you get the notification you've reached your click limit for her that day.

http://www.actuanimaux.com/adelaide

Click on the other animal's names...the two parrots stories are equally as heartbreaking and YOU can click for them, too!

For every action there is a reaction. According to the law of karma, if we cause pain and suffering to other living beings, we must endure pain and suffering in return, both individually and collectively. We reap what we sow, in this life and the next, for nature has her own justice. No one can escape the law of karma

I click every day 5 times without fail for Adealaide and again for all the other animals featured on this site.I only found out about this great site 2 weeks ago.I wish I had heard about it ages ago.I can't speak French either but you don't need to speak the language to help raise funds to save each of these animals.Just simply click on the names on the right hand side of the page and then the number 5 appears. Each time you click the number drops to 4 then 3, 2 ,1 etc.keep going until you have clicked to help all the animls/causes. Very simple and quick

Noted, tweeted, commented, I have already done the 5 clicks on all the animals at the french site. We have a link in it at "The Indie Group" an animal rescue group I co-host here on Care2. Our whole group clicks on all the animals everyday or some pick favorites. We have rescues several horses this way and hopefully can help out all of them. Thank you for making this wonderful site known to the Care2 community at large. For the longest time, I only saw it on our group, we have a lot of people from all over the world in our group and luckily some speak French and can tell us what to do and how to do it. We have clicks from many countries, sometimes we are not even sure we did them all right LOL, but we keep trying. Thank you O. Thompson!

Been clicking on all the animals 5x every day for about 3 wks now. Thanks Ramona! Will keep on doing it too!!!!

A couple of times, 1 of the Animals had their numbers with minus signs first & when I clicked the number got bigger instead of smaller. Has anyone had this happen & what does it mean?
I really enjoy watching the numbers going down! (sometimes a heap at a time)
I'm thinking if they are going in the other direction, that can't be good !!!

For DAILY REMINDERS go to www.actuaminaux.com, when page loads look in upper right corner and click on: S'inscrire au rappel automatique (automatic redial) on next page put first name, last name, email address and click which of the 3, or all 3 notifications.

You can scroll back up on comments and find out about daily reminders, what page means, info about Actuanimaux, donations, causes, blogs, etc. A lot of people have given very helpful info. Also I listed translation tool bar link site earlier.

THANK YOU FOR HELPING THESE VOICELESS ONES!

Noted, been clicking ever since i found that site, great simple way to save lives.

I have Care2, care2clicks & Actu.animaux open up as my home pages so its the first thing i do when i go on the internet.

Its easier to remember if you use either Internet Explorer or google chrome. just add the the site to your home page SO then when u open up the internet it will be there for you to click.
Google Chrome is slightly easier if you translate then save the (ACTU.ANIANUX web page) that way when it opens it will already be translated.

If you don't know how to add sites to open up as soon as u click, this is how to do this:-

Open either IE or Chrome
You may have a home page set or it may go to the default page so in Internet Explorer, open the acto.animaux site
1.Once open, on the tool bar where the tabs are (the tabs are each web site page u have open) click on the little down arrow next to the picture of the house
2. Click "ADD or change home page" which brings up another box
3. click on "use this.." OR "add this..." whichever one suits you, you can have IE open as many pages as you like when it opens, however keeping it to a minimum of 3 is easier
4. Now you have added it, each time you open Internet explorer it will open the Actu.animaux click site for you

Google Chrome
1. Open Google chrome which will start with either a default or page u have set
2. Open up the Actu.animaux click site
3. On the right hand side there is a picture of a little spanner (it will be next to the minimize and close)click on it and there will be a drop down box, scroll down to where it says "options" click on it
4. A new smaller box will open with all the Google chrome settings you can change, with 3 tabs across the top saying 1.Basics 2. Personal stuff 3. Under the bonnet
5. click on the first tab called Basic, You will see where it says "On start up" if u already have the click site open to add it, just click the button that says "Open the following pages" Google Chrome will then start up with any tabs you have open.including the Actu.animau click site.
OR
You can click on the button that says "Home page" copy & paste the Actu.anumaux Click site into it. Click "show home button on the tool bar" YOUR DONE

NOW WHEN U OPEN YOUR INTERNET YOU WILL HAVE THE Care2 & Actu.animaux site ready to start work without the need TO GO SEARCH FOR IT ETC. The same applies to anyother sites you work with regularly, just add them to your home page (home page means...the first pages you see when u open the internet)
OR do like me....
IF YOU HAVE BOTH GOOGLE CHROME & INTERNET EXPLORER - THEN YOU CAN HAVE INTERNET EXPLORER TO OPEN CARE2 AND CARE2 CLICKS (do same as above to add Care2 )
AND GOOGLE CHROME FOR THE Actu.animaux click site & ANYOTHER SITE YOU WISH TO APPEAR ON OPENING.

Hope i have explaind that well enough, mail me if your not sure & I will help you!
HAPPY CLICKING

GREAT NEWS WE SAVED ADELAIDE FROM THE SLAUGHTER!

Big news today: Adelaide is saved from slaughter!

This is a great victory for us and we thank you! Your clicks, your viewings of videos, your sms and your donations have greatly helped to save the donkey.

It is now important to note that Adelaide is the 20th animal rescued through our site, www.actuanimaux.com since 1 January 2011.

All continue to mobilize ourselves to them!

Continue to mobilize to save a cat , save a dog , save a horse and / or save a wild animal . Sponsoring an animal is a simple, fast and free allowing to participate actively in the protection of animals !

Please click daily for all animals on Actuanimaux.com.

Jella the elderly mare has been at Actuanimaux.com a long time. Would you please take those clicks of love you gave for Adelaide and be sure to click to save Jella? Jella has been abandoned 3 times, so it does not look good for her.

On behalf of all you have done for Adelaide (((THANK YOU))) , her other friends at Actuanimaux, and all other kindnesses for The Voiceless Ones!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

(Now if we can unite and save animals, we can unite and turn our country and our planet around!)

Melanie when you click on the animals, their highlighted names go away until it's time to click again.

Just go down the list on the far right on each name to click each animal.

I click each little blue paw print on each animal's photo page 5 times in internet explorer, then I go back in www.actuanimaux.com through Mozilla Firefox browser and get another 5 clicks on each name/cause.

Thank you for signing the Ban Gas Chambers petition. We do have a legislator who will bring the bill to the floor in Montgomery Alabama if we can get the 1,000 signatures. Please have your family and friends sign and then forward petition.

http://www.thepetitionsite.com/1/BanGasChambersInAlabamaAnimalShelters/

Jella is "the old gray mare": that has been on Actuanimaux the longest. She has been abandoned 3 times. She really needs our help because she has been there a long time, and her click #'s are not good.

Now these are the animals in order of the list: (Some of the information copied directly from Actuanimaux, some paraphrased from site.)

Kaola the stallion was taken from slaughter and must be neutered. Isn't he beautiful? His owners didn't want him anymore when they felt he didn't meet the standards.

Hazelnut the dog has been wandering in the wild looking for a home. Hazelnut suffered from leishmaniasis, a parasitic disease caused by the bite of a sandfly.

Paco is the cockatiel who horrible owner threw him in a cage in a dark garage for 20 years. When Paco would cry out for loneliness or fear hiw owner would hit him. He would fly away in the garage so he wouldn't be hurt. His sadistic owner broke both of his wings, so Paco can never fly again.

Malita the dog is very beautiful but very timid, she was abandoned on the beach at the age of only 1 year. She is awaiting a place in foster care, sterilization is urgent for her to prevent future litters.

Linou the cat was removed from an elderly owner's home, due to unsanitary conditions.

Max the cat was homeless wandering the streets. When winter came he would beg from house to house. He wandered near the house of an association member who helped cats. He was very fearful of people. His need was to be sterilized so clicks help pay for the sterilization, medicine, and adoption.

Apollo is the parrot that was so mistreated that he lost his feathers due to stress.

(Jella, see in first position.)

The causes: (These are in order)

4000 people mobilize to protect horses.

The crusade against bullfighting.

Education for 20,000 people regarding animal welfare.

Campaign against bullfighting in Beaucaire.

I hope this is helpful to you. You are going to need to use a translation tool bar for any updates as new animals are added. I added the link in comments on the news story site that I use. (Scroll up.)

I am a Care2 member just like you who clicks to save animal's lives. We could not have saved dear sweet Adelaide without your help and the help of all of the other Care2 members.

Thanks again for helping save Adelaide and for signing and forwarding Ban Gas Chambers in Alabama Animal Shelters petition.

I have signed and commented for Roxy, I have signed and commented on the gas chambers and I click 5 times each day on the French site, for each animal featured.

Poor, precious Noisette, who had been so badly abused she cannot be put up for adoption! Sweet, loving Max, who is afraid of dominant cats. The parrot who has now regrown his plumage, and so on.

Google translate is all right, up to a point, as it does give you a pretty good idea of what the text says. It does sometimes produce some hilarious translations though!

I wrote an e-mail to Josie here on Care2 in English, had Google translate it into her native Indonesian and sent it, and then had Google translate it back into English, out of curiosity. This is what I wrote:
"May your guardian angels and St Francis watch over you and your precious fur kids!"
Translated and retranslated, this is what it came out as:
"Angel guardian May and St Francis supervise your children and your precious fur!"
I hadn't laughed so much in weeks!

Michaela M. - Yes. That is what PETA and other groups mean when they talk about "Meet the Meat"! (NO, I am not myself a PETA member.) Once you have actually met, seen and interacted with the animals that most humans eat, it is very hard indeed for many of us to continue eating meat. (I have been a staunch vegetarian for over 34 years and am now virtually vegan.)

Hi Melanie

Just a thought, the site is set to GMT, so if you click a bit late one day, you may actually have gone into the next days clicks.

I believe that you are 8 hours behind GMT, so it looks like you must click before 4pm to avoid missing a day.

I hope this helps. x

Alison A (244)
Thursday January 27, 2011, 1:28 pm
Hold on, I might be wrong, it was GMT + 1 before the site was changed on Boxing Day, now it is GMT,

My time is GMT, so I am assuming it is for everyone... not sure, maybe someone from a different time zone could confirm this.

This info could be beneficial for everyone who may not be on the computer all day and needs to know what time to click by.

YES! We can click on EACH ITEM in the list - I do each one 5X each day - when one item is clicked 5 times the list will come back and you can go on to the next animal or cause that needs our help. I just learned about this site a little while ago and have been doing this EVERY DAY since - I have noticed that some animals on the list disappear and hopefully that means they have received 'enough' clicks for the sponsors to help them, and other animals in need take their place(s). Some of the pictures break my heart and I am happy that I can help them in this way . . . I try to do this at the same time every day because of the international (GMT) time issue.
