I've been looking forward to this film for some time now. James LaVeck & Jenny Stein (the film's makers and founders of Tribe of Heart) are, in my mind, monumental figures in their unique ability to touch hearts.

I pray this film gets wide release, but you may have to look for it. It will definitely be a life changing experience for many!

Thanks for posting, Echo.

That was very nice, commodities, well that is how family court and cps treats children due to Title 4Dfunding. Any beast or human that is able to love should never be separated, it is abuse in every sense of a being.

Yes, this is very heartbreaking! It really makes one wonder about what it takes to get your food to your plate. When you are buying this packaged meat in the grocery store it never dawns on you how did it get there? Much less strike you that at one time that was a living, breathing, animal... with feelings and likely people that had some kind of attachments/connection to the animal. Native Americans eat meat though. It is not as much a matter of it being "right or wrong" to eat meat, as it is a matter of RESPECTING ALL Life on Mother Earth and paying repects as well. IMHO! Priorites need to change. It is overdue, that is one thing tha is for certain! :O(

Noted! Thanks so much it was so beautiful.I find it very hard some days with all the violence and killing and the poor babies not being cared for and I remember things from when I was a child. I had good memories but we were never told what happen to this cow or that one unless it got sick. My Dad is a sensitive man I do not know
how he made it as a farmer. I guess he really liked his orchard and garden more. Plus he sold insurance. We
Loved our cows they were our pets!

Funny story all were pets and my brother had a special love for for his pet chicken. One night when he was asleep he started to talk ,he must have been dreaming. My Mom heard him say; "If I don't marry a girl I'll a chicken!"
The next morning he did not remember anything, but my Mom did!

This film will bring many a tear to many an eye. It may serve to change the hearts of many as well and help them to start to see animals as fellow travellers on this trip through life.

Tears , Tears , Tears, my heart breaks. if i may speak for the animals. this is what they would say this was sent to me by a friend. it could not be more fitter. If Animals Spoke our Language
Animals speak to us in their own way,
but if they spoke with words, what would they say?
One thing I declare, without ANY doubt:
All animals in cages would say 'Let me Out!'Watch my eyes follow your every motion'
A dog would say, 'my life speaks of devotion'.
A horse would say, 'A fire burns deep within me
that yearns to run through the countryside, free!'

'You can be soft and cuddly, like I am'
illustrates an adorable little lamb.
'Soar with your thoughts like I soar through the sky,'
advises a wood pigeon gliding by.
A bird might add, 'Our grand and spacious sky
was meant as a safe place for us to fly.
'Birds are killed by cars that also pollute the air,
This planet was intended for us to share.'

'Help, my mother's been shot' a fawn would cry,
who woefully witnessed her mother die.
She'd flee in fear to her cousins and brother,
'The scariest beast of all killed my mother.'
'Your blindness to bovines is a real oddity,
for you see us as a mere commodity.
Hard to believe the exploitation we've seen,
being conscious beings seen as a machine.'

'Some scientists are really quite confused
seeking answers by primates being abused.
I, with eyes that greatly resemble yours,
see madness in some things that man explores
'I can't breathe or move; I'm living in hell!'
cries a chicken from her crowded prison cell.
"Humans inflict such excruciating pain',
With a hook in his mouth, a fish would explain.

One way we can improve the human race
is to respect those of a different face.
We need to listen in a whole new way
to what animals are trying to say.
Thank you , noted, and pass on.

Thank you so much for showing me this. When I was a little girl i thought like this & people told me i would be considered crazy because i believed Animals had Souls too. I was born believing this & i could not change. I was just as shocked that they did not know animals had souls too, as they were shocked that i really believed this to be true. It is so relief to find Care2 when i did & i feel like this is my home & as i read all your words, i understood & felt the same things as many of you described. Tears in Eyes. I am so honoured to be here with all you, my dear brothers & sisters who care about so many creatures. Bless each & everyone of you, so, so much. Bless the Tribe of the Heart & these Animals.

May I also recommend that, if you are unable to download the movie (the original) via the website, you can utilize your local public libary's Interlibrary Loan department to request a copy to view. I've checked and it is available out there. Here is the information the library would want, though they are able to look it up as well:

Peaceable kingdom
by Jenny Stein; James LaVeck; Tribe of Heart (Organization)
Type: DVD video
Language: English
Publisher: Ithaca, NY : Tribe of Heart, 2004.
Editions: 2 Editions (DVD, VHS)
ISBN: 1882979168 9781882979165
OCLC: 55113444

I'm getting it that way because it will be easier for me to view.

Thanks Echo (and ALF for forwarding to me)!!

I look forward to seeing the documentary. Present methods orchestrated by corporations and greed are cruel and inhumane. This world was created so that we have to kill other living beings to survive, whether animal, fish, or plant. Animals kill one another and it part of the natural order of things, but there is a hunt and quickly over. There is a balance in nature or the plant eating animals and birds would run out of food and starve to death, so they populations are kept in check by the meat eaters. Pain and suffering seem to be part of being alive in this world. I can't think of a solution to change the natural order of things, but humane living conditions and as kind as possible slaughter should be mandatory. There should always be an appreciation and reverence for all life.
