In 2000, George W. Bush took the stage at the NAACP's annual convention and laid out, for the first time ever, an education policy overhaul he called No Child Left Behind.

I think today's kids are no longer getting an education, just constant testing. Obviously I'm not against test but is it really an "education?" I don't think so.
Thank you Freya

It sounds like this bill, when finalized eventually, will not make it to the president's desk. The whole thing should really be scrapped. I agree with National Education Association and the number of civil rights groups who have contended that testing is not a form of accountability. NCLB has led to over-reliance on tests. Those used can be culturally biased, and have questionable validity and reliability. This whole approach does little to address the socioeconomic roots of failure in the school system. NCLB a very poor band-aid at best. Thanks Freya.
