The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) is expected to release a ruling within the coming months that will affect some 85 percent of all calls from prisons and jails.

Is there anyone not making $$$ from prisoners there...no wonder prisons are filled to capacity. Keep those bodies coming. thx Freya

If Securus is allowed to buy JPay, it is quite simply "game over" for prisoner communications. I hope everyone will sign the petition linked in the article regarding phone rates, and if you want to add a comment about the proposed acquisition of JPay, it couldn't hurt.

Good grief. The prison-industrial complex. One of every 100 adult Americans in prison, largely owing to mandatory minimum sentences, and now a new corporate master has risen to profit from this misery.
