The airline industry profits by having you pay extra to be treated like a human being.

I drive when I travel, & my furkids go with me, so I know they are safe.

Trains rule (over planes)!
Just as dogs do over cats.
(Hey, just stirring the pot a little.)

Otherwise enlightening and infuriating.
Plane travel is downright dangerous.
I take trains or hire a driver whenever I can.

I've started looking into taking ships to Europe, though they are not common any longer.

In all forms of business, there's a need to be overly-competitive, at the expense of the employees and customers. This is thanks to the 1% of evil huge corporations that rule the planet---along with their share-holders and bought politicians and lawyers. As they have most all of the money, they monopolize, play down and far too dirty, and use their proven method on all business---even governmental, like the US post office. When they force such competitiveness in areas, like travel, affecting the safety and basic comforts of customers and employees, it really shows how the game is played--no holds barred--no regard for life. They're junk yard dogs, unleashed, have all the masses at bay, snarling,, biting here and there, and increasingly killing those who stand in their way, or are just a victim of circumstance. Revolution kids. You can continue the old peace approach, but, see how far that got us kids from the 60's? I don't think all money is dirty---it depends on how you got it in your hand and whose hand you put it in. Thanks Freya. Good post.
