It would be nice to see industry being brought to a standstill given women are actively involved in most levels of working life.

Great, but we need to keep in mind that a strike is no good unless you are focused on your demands. Labor strikes worked because people were focused on safer conditions, better pay, et cetera. A strike is just a bunch of people with signs unless they are striking FOR something and not just against something.
