Donald Trump's administration has thrown out longstanding ethical norms, put private interests before the public interest, and opened unprecedented opportunities for government officials to enrich themselves at taxpayer expense.

I guess that Trump didn't even know how the word ethics is written, not to speak of the meaning of it...

In between ethical conflicts and having the wrong people in the roles, Donald Trump has demonstrated a level of breath taking corruption rarely seen outside some of the more authoritarian countries. Already Trump has shown he is getting bored with his duties and although he made promises, he is most certainly not going to keep them. The whole draining the swamp is one of his biggest lies as it is clear he is dumping tankers of toxic waste into it.

This article explains in detail what we already knew. Trump is the biggest swamp monster of all! What I find hard to understand (not being a US citizen) is how on earth he can legally get away with this? He wouldn't have lasted a week in Australia, just on conflict of interests alone.

He gets away with it because we have Republican control of all branches of government and the Republicans although many of them are corrupt themselves they are the ones to be quick to call for congressional investigations, independent counsel and impeachment. When President Obama came into office he had numerous issues he could have investigated the out going Republican President on but didn't. Democratic politicians are not big on following through on or making enough noise about these issues. On one hand this is good because Republicans love to waste tax payer dollars and use it as a way to campaign against the other party which is a misuse of tax payer dollars and election fraud and they cost us a lot of money in unnecessary investigations. However, Democrats let things go and let people go unpunished by not doing so. This President just 100 days into his administration has numerous reasons he could be impeached most likely any investigation would take an entire term before it would catch up with him. However we cannot trust a Republican appointed FBI head and a trump Appointee as Attorney General to make this happen. The call for an independent counsel has o be deafening to the point that they have no choice but to do this.
