Too often, Americans let their leaders off the hook for the violence they perpetrate.

The quicker Trump goes the better, he has no compassion for people who deserve it.

Thanks Freya. The more I read and witness what is happens in your country the more I grieve for it I am so glad not to be a citizen in it.Some of the Australians who contribute to care 2 posts are very critical of our politicians and their policies and actions, should compare our two countries and wake up and be so grateful for the differences between the two countries.

Few assholes, oops, people?, can gloat like Rumpy and Ryan!!!!!!!!!!!
These are sick, lying, greedy, slime, led by Orange Slime!
One item for the carnage index is the recent killing of a fellow by a maniac screaming at him "Get out of my country!"

They care little for the American people, they only serve their masters, contributors to their campaigns. We need term limits!

noted shared - the poor, disabled, Vets are always the ones who suffer the most. Trump thinks of no one but what is good for trump, and that's it!

Thanks, Freya ...

I really like this idea (in fact, we should be doing this for all senior politicians - for Senators, Representative, Members of Parliament ... If results were published regularly, billboards posted for those scoring high, it could perhaps act as a counter to the influence of Big Money ...)

And it should also include calculations of the multiplier effects that reflect interaction of policies promoted ...
Reduction of environmental protection measures => increased health problems - with the most vulnerable to pollution effects being those with least access to health care (let alone the specialised & potentially long-term care needed for the effects of the pollution ...)

Thanks for posting, Freya. The article ends with: "Let’s start counting Trump’s casualties now and widely disseminate the results. The hard numbers of a carnage index provide an important antidote to impunity."

I couldn't agree more, this carnage index should be started immediately. The priority should lie with Drumpf and his administration, but should be extended to all politicians as Evelyn suggests as soon as it is up and running.

I think this paragraph in the article put it in a nutshell

"While the Senate is likely to water down its worst provisions, the House bill sends a clear message: in the eyes of Congressional Republicans, the lives of the poor, old, and disabled are worth less than those of the healthy, wealthy white men who rule the country."

I am not sure how this would work. But, Mr Colbert might have an idea. During the nightly news during the Vietnam war, there was the daily body count of the US troops that were killed that day. This brought the WAR home to the people. This had a massive public ground swell to get the US out of this political war.

Thanks Freya for the link to the article by Betsy Hartmann. Trump really needs to be impeached and the GOP needs to be voted out of office.

He does not care about anything except getting dollars for his 2020 PAC. Only he and Pence set up PACs so soon after being "elected." This is the new era of presidential politics.
