I would add reading to your children for pleasure - every bedtime and at other times if possible. Not for education, but for pleasure. My children still enjoy being read to and they are now in their late teens and twenties! A good routine also helps. It can be broken - at the weekends, holidays and for special treats, but generally it should be kept to. Also, a good diet - not necessarily expensive, but varied, fresh if possible and home-prepared if possible.

Great advice. Sadly, parents either are so concerned about their children, they have become an enabler to their growth. Also, there are the parents who have pushed their child to the point where they have facial ticks by the age of 7.

I agree with Brenda. Be there for your children. Tell them you love them, take time out to do something with them.
