Thanks Elizabeth, I got this in my Newsletter too. Unfortunately, I won't be one of the lucky ones to see it. However, once many years ago when I lived in Chicago on a very high 2nd floor apartment. I was able to get pictures of a Solar Eclipse by looking down thru the leaves from the tree by my window and shoot pictures thru them as a filter on the ground. I got great shots and No, I didn't look at the sun altho I was tempted.

Humans have even set off bombs on the moon.
Criminal curiosity!

Zee, when were bombs detonated on the moon? I hadn't heard about that. Are you referring to the devices used in the search for water there?

Glad to see that Americans will be enjoying the marvellous spectacle of a TOTAL LUNAR ECLIPSE by the Sun that we in Australia (Melbourne) enjoyed between 05:29 and 06:30 hours in cloudless skies a few moths ago !!!

I got to see it. Not well, though, since there's too much light pollution where I live, but it was nice.
