And while confirmation that they defied extinction would be incredible news in times when animals are facing such disheartening declines, maybe (fingers crossed) the Tasmanian tigerâEUR(TM)s elusiveness has been the secret to its success all along

i have heard of sightings for a while, i do hope it's true!
There's a list of animals we thought of as extinct which aren't.

Thank you Lone. If there are survivors, for their sake, I hope they stay elusive. Otherwise, researchers, zoos, etc. are going to want to breed them in captivity and call it conservation. Or some depraved hunter will want bragging rights and a trophy. (...'If it's rarely seen, by God, let's kill it!' Like that wildlife officer who "dispatched" the last mountain lion to be seen in Kentucky in over 100 years. Mankind? More like mancruel.)

If they're out there, I really hope we leave 'em alone...They obviously don't need our "help."

Thanks for the link, Animae. Going to check it out now. ; )

I hope humankind never finds them or they might not survive. Lots of stupid trophy hunters out there and it would be great if they went extinct soon.
