The initiative is expected to create jobs for 200 Syrian refugees, mostly women, currently living in Jordan, a country that has welcomed more Syrians fleeing violence than any other country.

Very good, as long as Ikea is paying those people decent wages rather than just exploiting them. Sorry if I come across as a tad cynical.

I'm glad you brought this up again!

Freya - from what I've heard, this is well structured & under the eye of several responsible bodies, so wages should be correct and working conditions decent.

What I'm not sure of is - do IKEA's plans allow for the participants to continue working with IKEA when they (hopefully) move home to Syria, once the war ends.
