Note: It seems quite possible that Wayne LaPierre maybe standing at the far end of that long and twisting line to individual recovery. . .

I'd laugh if it weren't so real. :(

What can you say about this, without using words that would get you banned on Care2

When I saw this in my inbox this morning I laughed myself silly. I remember reading an article many months ago about this very thing but I just can't remember the dollar figure mentioned --- I think $10K for your average politician, and more for leaders. And then there is that damn score card that the NRA keeps and holds over a politician's head.

In my estimation, the NRA is just too big for its britches!

They should be congratulated - they have now proven they are every bit as arrogant and stupid as we thought they were.

How sad that Mr. LaPierre believes that he "owns" politicians...what an entitled, arrogant, self-serving man he is.

It's time for sensible gun control! Let's hope those up for re-election have the guts to do the right thing and the morals not be "bought" by the NRA!

NRA is four letter word even if it looks like its only 3......."regulated militia" sounds like as part of a government (even state run) group to protect people....

It is a sad and disgusting situation when our politicians take money for votes. And of course it is equally sad that this disgusting group wants to "own" people. Whatever happened to ethics and morals. Maybe they should be sent back to kindergarden. Plus, the NRA keeps playing the Second Amendment card, when that is not being threatened. Why does anyone listen to them!

@ Virgene --- Ethics and morals when combined with politicians is like oil and water. They always separate!

Thanks everybody. I hope you enjoyed Borowitz as much as I do.

I have to say I laughed my head off when I was reading it, but then the ugly truth of it all came rushing back in. The very sad and disgusting thing is that this is exactly how it really is. An ethically moral NRA? There's an oxymoron for you, emphasis on moron. Thanks Lynn!

As long as their agendas are being furthered what do they care about anything else? They're so far out there and way out of touch with reality. Thanks Lynn.

As we have discovered in this country also - it is astonishing how little money is needed to buy a poltitican's soul - and the millions worth of benefits must make them on every Repuglicon fanatic's Christmas List!

There is no one better at using satire to state the truth than Mr. Borowitz. Read and noted. Thanks Lynn.
