CENTRAL NJ -- Frank Delarosa thought it was strange to see a pit bull running down a sugar sand path near the cranberry bogs at Double Trouble State Park on Friday, her leash dragging behind her.

Thanks so much for another of your "feel good" story BarbCat....and for promoting a good story on a pittie.
I'm sure there are plenty more out there that people just don't get the chance to hear, but as people who care, and are tired of seeing them get the bad rap (that rightfully belongs to the owners!) it's stories like this that need so much more promoting then the bad..thank you!

Thanks BarbCat. Finally a good story! More prominence should be given to these heartening 'pitbull' stories, especially where BSL applies.

I left a comment yesterday,, Sweetie, see it isn't here. Seemed to be care2 problems yesterday. So I will leave another one. Thanks, Sweetie. That is a really loyal dog, if only people could be that loyal. How sweet it is that the dog was able to go for help for its master.

Pit bulls (and other large breeds) get such a bad rap, reflective of dumb ass owners who shouldn't own any animal. Love and caring heals any dog, any size. This can certainly be said for cats and other animals as well. Humans are the problem.

I'm not sure if it would make a difference for the ill intended, but I feel every dog/pet owner should be required to take a course in animal welfare.

Another GOOD article about a Pitbull that was rescued from abuse and saved the life of their rescuer.Proving again the loyalty of these dogs.

I've seen Staffordshires who would enter a burning house to retrieve the 2 year old kid hiding under the bed. I've heard tales of a service dog fetching help for her owner's tipped over wheelchair. I've read of dogs, cats, and horses who've done better service than the paramedics in keeping their humans alive and healthy. Animal problems are generally due to abuse by humans...

dogs are truly a generous gift from God our Creator and theirs as well. I pray the dogs owner is well and gets better. so that her and the pit dog can resume their home life together.

You mean all pit bulls are not dangerous? Only kidding. There should be more stories like this in the mainstream media. We had a pit here in MA also named Lilly who pulled her person off the train tracks after she fell. Lilly put her own life at great risk and had to have her leg amputated. I get so angry when people stereotype these dogs. I lived with one and really ti was not best for either of us but I made a commitment to her and she stayed till she died. I became a champion for them after her death.
If you look in the news you will rarely see anything bad that pits have done you can hear or see the news and see numerous reports of killings by people. How can they not see that?

And if we listen to the screaming morons, all pit bull-like dogs should be killed. What exactly will it take for those morons to realize that it's not the dogs but the people who use them as weapons that should be put to sleep.

Finally, a good heart warming story. This dog was a guardian angel to her owner. Thanks to the man that saw the dog running down the road dragging her leash. So glad you rescued her and she lead you to her owner. Pit bulls can be just as gentle as any other dog. It is all in the way people train them. Any dog can be aggressive if you train it to be. God Bless this dog for being a hero!!!

One more great story to show people that pit bulls are ok and not "killers"
Thank you to the person that followed him not having any fear of the pup even though it was a pit bull...so many people due to ignorance would've probably not want to even get near him.

A very nice, heartwarming story. This should be used as proof that pit bulls are not bad dogs overall, but once again that the owners are at fault for any bad behavior as this dog proves that it is a good, smart dog.
