There is no doubt that the coral reefs, around the world, are dying due to many factors including things acidification of the oceans and global warming. These factors are wide scale and hard to change or make a difference enough to save the coral

Signed. The natural sunscreens I know of are made with zinc oxide. This is the kind of sunscreen I use when necessary. I worked outdoors in the Florida sun for years without thinking about using any sunscreen. Now I sometimes use it during summer months when the sun is most intense. I wonder if the zinc oxide is safe for the coral reefs?

Done thanks Barb. I personally believe that the chemicals in sunscreen actually cause skin cancer rather than prevent it....but then I don't trust any big corporations' ads and do trust the report of one brave dermatologist who warned against using them and explained how to make your own with ingredients safe enough for consumption (olive oil and green tea).

Signed and noted! Most sun screens are pure poison, and should not be used anyways. Coral reefs are essential - we can't afford to lose any of them!

It's such a shame to pollute pristine ecosystems and waterways that we admire with all the toxorama body products people smear all over themselves. Our skin absorbs all that petrochemical smelly junk too.
