"Students said they thought it was a drill until they heard gunshots. Teachers told them to run from the school. One student told KPRC she and friend ran into the forest nearby for safety and called her mother."

Can you imagine the sheer horror those kids experienced, PTSD will change them forever!

LOVE & HEALING LIGHT to all of them!!! 😢

Mother Earth & every sentient being upon her too, Barb!
There is so much anger in the world, i don't know what's going on!

i was attacked verbally by a woman at the park today simply for telling her that the USDA has tested &
found many dog food brands to contain the euthanasia drug used on animals!
People will use any excuse to get horribly ANGRY!

i send out LOVE & HEALING LIGHT to all, daily!

Truly heartbreaking to hear of the news of another high school shooting. Days before graduation too. Makes me so angry that tRump still hasn't done a damn thing about gun control, What is it going to take for him to do something??? One of his own family members getting shot?? He sends his regards which mean sh*t when he doesn't do anything to stop it. My thoughts and prayers are with them all back in Santa Fe, Texas. Thanks Barb

There's no comparison with the rest of the world Marilyn!

Americans are 10 times more likely to be killed by guns than people in other developed countries,
a new study finds.
Compared to 22 other high-income nations, the United States' gun-related murder rate is 25 times higher. And, even though the United States' suicide rate is similar to other countries, the nation's gun-related suicide rate is eight times higher than other high-income countries, researchers said.

The study was published online Feb. 1 in The American Journal of Medicine.

I'm so sick that these needless shootings continue. My heart breaks everytime this happens. I'm afraid until the republicans and tRump are out of office this will continue. They are owned by the NRA.
My love, healing light, and prayers go out to to all left behind. Rest in Peace to the lost souls.
Thank you dear Barb.

Until we get Big Money out of our elections this will continue on. The NRA, sends large sums of money into our elections, mostly on the Republican side, to keep those guns flowing into our communities.

If you want this violence to stop, you MUST elect Candidates at all levels of govt who clearly state they want to remove these assault weapons from our shelves and gun shows. We don't need weapons of war on our streets, with magazine clips that spit out hundreds of bullets in seconds.

People are not hunting for food with these weapons of war, it tears the human being apart and would do so with the animal too. Those assault weapons are made for killing humans and we can see that is what is happening.

We also need to make it as hard to get a gun or rifle as it is to drive a car. People should have to attend all sorts of safety programs and learn how to properly handle the weapons. Then require them to store them safely away from anyone else who doesn't own the gun from getting it. In this case the son should not have been able to get his Father's weapon.

I'm so tired of the 2nd Amendment people feeling that assault weapons used in wars is a right for them to own. Well what about our right to life? Our children are being killed - what about their right to live? There were more students shot and killed in their school than our soldiers dying on the battlefield in 2018.

Soldiers we are told that are doing that for our "safety".........and yet our children are dying here, not over there somewhere. The American people have lost their minds; they can't even think logically anymore. Kind of like sending more money to the Pentagon to protect us; while we have too many homeless, dying with no medical care, and going hungry. What are we being protected from???

That money could help people here obtain medical care that we are told we can't afford Universal Health Care; yet we can find more and more ways to spend money on wars, conflicts, and dropping millions of dollars of bombs in one day. Maybe if we placed our funding into education we'd have fewer disillusioned youth that see no future for themselves or they could get mental health care.

Oh that would make too much sense wouldn't it, having health care and opportunities for a better future or helping our Elders in their final years so they can live their life in dignity instead of having to eat cat food and freeze to death in their homes as they can't afford to pay for heat.

Again with all this going on I won't write my opinion here. People are in need of help and while YES I do approve control gun control, but I have NEVER USED my SHOTGUNS since 2004! ONLY for TRAP! NO Animals EVER!!! Probably would get rubber bullets for this intruders here! Not violent person! But, people are CRAZY here! I'm not worried I have a Commercial Alarm, but REALLY???????? Guns are not violent when you do certain things. Others are Pitiful!

Thank you Barb and Animae......I'm not interested to get into that political arena, I'm not well enough to start with.

But there are good people who are stepping up to the challenge and we need to pay attention to who they are in each of our districts. People need to pay attention to the down tickets races as they are as important, if not more important than a Senate race.

Our State Legislatures have direct impact upon us, look at how quickly the students in Florida were able to get the Legislature to pass a bill here in Florida and signed by Gov. Rick Scott. Unthinkable not that long ago, but people do have the power if they use it. Now was it everything we wanted, no, but it was more than what was happening for years.

We have a Gov.'s race coming up, and we have local races coming up, pay attention on where they stand on gun issues. Vote in the people that are willing to work for you.

Marilyn, most people in the USA are not pushing to have your protective weapon removed, a shotgun, but I do not see where we need to have assault weapons within the hands of most people. Most people do NOT know how to use them correctly. Too many people are unhinged at the moment either with lack of mental health care, feeling the weight of a economic system that offers little to no opportunities, or they are caught up in some ideology whereby you don't think like them you are as good as dead. Racism is still rampant in many areas - these assault weapons do not need to be among us.

I think you have a better chance of living and protecting your property by the Commercial Alarm you have. The alarm goes off and help arrives - by the time you figured out how to load your never used shotgun let alone be accurate in the shot, it's too late.

Too many firearms around. As long as this doesn't change, schoolshootings will happen again and again. As will all the other mass shootings.

And as always, those who got the bullits didn't do nothing to get killed for....

Some 11 000 each single year....

Thank you for bringing attention to this.
Firearms of any kind do not belong in the hands of mentally ill people.
How do we test for this condition?
Some men and women feel that their constitutional rights are at risk if they don't have their firearms.

The awful thing is that this has become so common it barely made the news where I live. It was so fleeting I missed it. Are we becoming immune to these events? What a dreadful thought!
