So JetBlue must obviously allow pets in the cabin??
Imagine if the dog was in cargo, there would have been no hope for him!!!
This is the only reason i will not fly, all animals in Australian flights go into cargo!!
i still haven't visited my daughter who moved to the Gold Coast over a year ago, i will NOT put Wolf in carg

BRAVO JetBlue!!!

(Will do Barb)

"A French bulldog was rescued on a JetBlue flight by a quick-thinking airline crew -- and the owners could not be more pleased.

On Thursday night, 3-year-old French bulldog Darcy was on a flight from Florida to Massachusetts with owners Michelle and Steven Burt when she started showing signs of distress, ABC News reported.

According to the Burts, the dog’s tongue began to turn blue and she started having difficulty breathing, which prompted the flight crew to quickly step in with an oxygen mask.

"We all are affected by cabin pressure and oxygen fluctuations, human, canine and feline, etc., but the fact that the Attendants were responsive and attentive to the situation may have saved Darcy’s life," Michelle wrote on her Facebook page, ABC News reported.

Darcy was treated for hypoxia – a lack of oxygen in the body – by her owner who held the oxygen mask over the dog’s face.

"I placed the mask over her face, and within a few minutes she became alert and after a short time she didn’t want the mask," Michelle said, ABC News reported. "I believe [crew members] Renaud and Diane saved a life, some may reduce the value of the life because Darcy is a canine. I do not."

Burt thanked the JetBlue crew for helping Darcy during the trip.

JetBlue released a statement to ABC News about the incident, which could have been dangerous had flight crew not reacted.

"We all want to make sure everyone has a safe and comfortable fight, including those with four legs," JetBlue said in a statement to ABC News. "We're thankful for our crew's quick thinking and glad everyone involved was breathing easier when the plane landed in Worcester."

Fox News reached out to JetBlue for comment, but has yet to receive a response.

Many airlines ban French bulldogs from flying in cargo holds because of their respiratory issues.

French bulldogs are more prone to respiratory problems as they are classified as short-nosed dogs, or brachycephalic. Short-nosed dogs are put at a higher risk for breathing problems when flying because they are more vulnerable to changes in air quality and temperature, AVMA says"

I know Barb is having issues with PM'S etc. This type of dog was INSIDE EITHER UNITED/DELTA and died...NOT ACCEPTABLE! I never put pets in a plane. I drive, if I had $$$ I would charter a private plane and have my babies run done the plane with me! Nothing more important to me!!!!
TY Barb. I missed this and just got it from ANIMAE...Bless her! Smarty Panties How did I miss this???

Blessings IMHO to ONE Airline that DESERVES MANY KUDOS....BUT ANGER to other Airlines that function under the $$ ERROR!!!

This needed to be FRONT AND CENTER DEAREST BARBCAT. Ask Anima for mailing addresses for both UNITED/AMERICAN/DELTA airlines here in the USA. Or , I will attempt to do a joint effort. I hate dogs?cats loaded in CARGO. It has had always disturbed me ~ I rescue dogs here in the USA in the past when I was YOUNGER ~ I always DROVE.

When I wanted Sammy as a second dog to Jessie girl I actually was looking to sell off everything I owned to get a private plane. I am really serious about my babies.

THIS is a role model .. and others should follow suit I think. Wonderful that the crew treated Darcy without any difference to treating humans. *Both* are LIVING CREATURES and deserve well-treatment :) Noted, and shared at Facebook. Thanks for placing this here!
