Do Dogs Get Embarrassed?

Offbeat  (tags: dogs, emotions, embarrassment, embarrassed )

Dogs are simple creatures, but that doesn't stop us from projecting a whole array of complex emotions onto them. Still, sometimes it can be hard to shake the feeling that your dog is, well, feeling a really specific emotion like embarrassment.

Mine doesn't get embarrassed, but feels anxiety (during a storm), or contentment/love from a nice belly rub, or a hug. Most animals do, I think if respected, and cared for.

Good post, Barb. Thx! xo

i think humans are good at projecting their emotions, even on to their dogs!
Nope i don't believe our pups feel embarrassment because it's a negative emotion & again only humans are good at negatives!

AFV America's Funniest Videos
They show cute videos of babies and puppies; the puppy pulling a baby on his blanket; a baby/toddler getting ready to take a bite of bread and the dog snatches it out of their hand. Or a cat with a dog toy stuck on its paw and the dog tries to get it back...

lol! i really cannot speak to dogs & embarrassment but cats... YES & it is sooo irritating to them... ever had a cat rolling around on his back being 'precious' & he rolls of the bed or couch... omg~do NOT laugh out loud! do NOT look him in the eye or in any way indicate you have seen this! the INDIGNITY of it all! just pretend it did NOT happen & walk away quietly!!!

p/s love you Romeo Mario Angelo & Furio.=^..^=

Absolute SPOT ON!

Good one Barb! My doggies knew when they were embarrassed.. The situations were hysterical and even if they were NOT funny my PUPS always knew it was OK!
Cause they can do anything they want! xxoo

I think they do, they are smarter than most people give them credit for. But we all here know that! And cats too, as some of you commented.
