apparently some time between the last administration and this one we started listening to the UN now they don't want us to leave a huge mess in our tracks, which i can understand---otherwise i'm right there with you---we shouldn't be there at all!!!

Well, I hate to break the news to you, but if voters don't wise up before the next election, you can kiss that 2014 date goodbye. All we'll need is another warmongering republican in the White House and about 10 more republicans in the Senate and the return to the disastrous Bu$h policies will be complete.

IMHO - America should not be in Afghanistan at all they are not wanted - were not asked - the Afghanistanis have been managing themselves for legions their culture goes way back beyond - America can never hope to change anything in Afghanistan because they just simply have not taken the time out to understand these pples and their culture and beliefs - they will never quit - America is fighting a loosing battle - killing all the beautiful youth of America for what??? Peace & Harmony - TY Mary C for this post.

This reminds me of the saying "the best laid plans of mice and men". We are where we should not be... and I agree with Mary, we cannot just walk out and leave a disaster mostly of our own making behind. We screwed up and their is no easy fix... politically, economically or socially for wither country. We need to blame Bush then move to make the hard choices.
