of course, it's always money given to OTHER people that's wasteful. even the governor's salary is more than twice that which he claims overpaid teachers make.

Oh, but RepubliCONs DESERVE their economy busting subsidies & Tax Breaks!;)
Welfare RepubliCONs (which includes Sarah Palin's bunch, they're not just in Wisconsin!) don't need Unions, they have their own Social Security Network - keeping them warm & well-fed on sideways Graft!

Please, modern day Republicans firmly believe it is "do as I say, not as I do".

Why does this not surprise me? I wonder how they'll feel Saturday when the farmers drive into Madison to protest against them.

To Sally Brown - are you for real? Your comment certainly has nothing to do with the subject of this article.

Henriette, I think you got it right. They have no conscience, not all, but many. Hate to harp on it, but they genuinely do not have a shred of conscienceness. They feel nothing. They are not evil, because that would imply feeling something. They feel no shame, remorse, guilt, care, got my drift... They are not like you or I. The only thing to do with people like them is to expose them loudly.

Republicans ADORE "Big Government'. They merely object to the 'welfare' that helps the most marginalized, not the welfare that benefits THEIR constituents.

Rethuglicans have become the most corrupt, greedy, selfish heap of lying unconscionable trash this country has ever known, and the Tbaggers are Rethuglicans too, they are all out of the same cesspool. I hope that people wake up and realize that YOUR VOTE DOES COUNT! If the Dems had not set out this last election, we wouldn't be in this predicament and would be well on the way to recovery, as the more than 250 Bills that would fix this entire thing are setting in the Senate with Rethuglican holds on them. They do not want us to have a recovery or even a decent living. They want the economy to be as bad as they could possibly make it as they think that we will then be stupid enough to vote for more Rs next election. They think we are really stupid, but look who put them in office.

Noted, thanks. I sometimes wonder if Repugs are human. To paraphrase a famous Shakespeare quote "if we prick them, would they bleed?".

Typical of Republicants. You don't have to turn more than a stone or two to find their forked tonguedness. Every single time.

Friends don't let friends vote Republican! Unfortunately, we are seeing much of this same behavior being exhibited by some Democrats, too. We need our public officials to be held accountable, irregardless of their party affiliation or their political ideology. As far as I'm concerned, this is just plain old fashioned hypocrisy taken to the most outrageous level. Thanks for posting, Carrie!

As I've said before, gr$$d is a disease and has no conscience.

HYPOCRITES! The one thing that angered the Christ was the hypocrite. Anyone worth their salt cannot abide a hypocrite. Hypocrisy is a betrayal of another's trust! These Wisconsin legislators must be recalled. There are serious conflicts here and a double standard. IMPEACH!

These corrupt Senators are usurpers regardless of the federal farm subsidies having effect / non-effect on the budget, nor does it matter if the amount given as state subsidies is comparitively high or low in WI.

This is clearly abuse of funds (corruption), and also a conflict of interest, similar to some of the shady non-profit organizations that solicit and receive funds for the non-profit but keep the funds for themselves, or help a family member obtain those funds.

Is the Wisconsin AG office going to prosecute them or not?
Let me list the names again, so this time the AG does not have a hit or miss :
Olsen, Schultz, Harsdorf

Public employees and anyone else who really works for a living in WI should be organizing a march into the state Capital. The marchers should demand that the Governor and any other politician who is worth more than a million bucks....and I think that would be most of them....should either agree to work for no more than minimum wage or forever shut their pie holes about how desperately they want to balance the budget!
