New York Times star columnist Maureen Dowd just isn't one to let the facts get in the way of a good story--or an accurate quote for that matter.

Noted and shared. How can someone who deliberately twist the actual events to her way of thinking as opposed to the true version still be able to hold her job. I don't know about anyone else but I rely on the media to be straight forward and truthful. She clearly has no ethics and abuses her position to make things a little bit hot for others of coarse while she sits back to watch the back lash.

Very interesting. I looked at both the site and the site's source, New York Magazine. Alternet doesn't show any comments but NY had a whole string, mostly directed at her boobs, her age, and her (as far as I know nonexistent) facelift. There was one comment from a gay person who did not take the most recent abbreviated quote as anti-gay. Both articles cited two abbreviated quotes and one actual misquote, plus one snarky comment, over a ten-year period.

And this is a proud member of the "honest" press we have here in America...need I say more??

Honest, and Press can no longer be used in the same sentence any longer...

I generally take what the media writes with a grain of salt while reading between the lines. Where Dowd was concerned it was usually a block of salt. I lost respect for the NY Times a long time ago; the same for LA and Chicago as well.
The Fourth Column is bought and paid for and has been for a long time. That's another reason I don't watch CNN as in many respect they like the aforementioned have become the Fifth Column, especially where the public is concerned and the nation.

“As the transcript makes clear,” de Blasio campaign manager Bill Hyers argued then, “her actual comments were about Speaker Quinn’s unwillingness to listen to the people on education, and paid sick leave, and any suggestion otherwise is disingenuous and absurd.”
"Emotional Quinn Doubles Down on ‘Children’ Remark Despite Misquote ."......

Maureen Dowd would not purposely LIE ....there is no point to doing that.....the truth is more compelling.
