Stupid, stupid and more stupid. If you don't want to be a dolt, learn to roll with the changing tide of history. Thanks Carrie.

I really don't think they mind being dolts ~ if they did they wouldn't be republicans.

I'm so old I remember a time when you didn't have to be a moron to be a Republican. In fact I was one. But those days are long gone.

If NM state law doesn't expressly prohibit it, the Clerk should have the right to issue marriage licenses to same-sex couples if that's what the Clerk believes should be done. And since the state's attorney general isn't objecting I'd say the Clerk is likely on firm legal ground.

You know, Robert, I recall those days, as well, though i was not one.
They have come to have no agenda that has "no socially redeeming qualities," remember that phrase?
And they have twisted their minds into "moronhood," if you will, in an attempt to rationalize their drive for selfish greed.
I started out being ready to respond to this posting with the simple phrase "**** them!"
I wonder, though, is this clown concerned about the marriage licenses, or just laying the groundwork for a re-election campaign?
What do you think, Anne P. and Carrie?

Mitch, if this clown is laying the ground work for a re-election campaign, I hope it backfires in his face like an exploding cigar! The denial of "Life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness" is not an election objective. Good on the clerk!

Very stupid move in my opinion. Thanks for posting the article Carrie.

It's NM's vague language that started this whole thing. Live with it-it's your law.
