"This kind of attack is a challenge to the world," Obama said. "We cannot accept a world where women and children and innocent civilians are gassed on a terrible scale."

Since Elderberry has all the answers I can only assume she has actually been living in Syria.

What I find interesting is that everyone agrees something needs to be done to stop the civilian deaths and complete destruction of Syrian life, but no one wants to be the one to take the steps to stop it.

Samo samo samo. It is ALL about money. Assad, I donít think is an idiot ó I donít think he would do this on purpose in order for the whole world to come down on them. It is only USA and couple of others that want this war. Why? MOOOOOONEY! Reason is oil, weaponproductions, test of new weaponery and so forth. Follow the money is all you have to do. BUT it REALLY are interesting to see so many countrys say NO to go to war. Countrys that for few years ago stod by USA in all wars. Very interesting and shows that PEOPLE around the world are saying NO and even more interesting is that their governmets follow what their people say. So folks...... IT DOES MATTER TO RAISE YOUR VOICE. Governments NOW KNOW that if they do not follow their peoples will, they will be replaced.

How long is Obama going to need to make a decision?

Your comment is so true Carrie. In my opinion it should be a UN led attack if there is one - the only problem is that Great Britain has stated they will not be involved.

"It's complicated."
Do we lob missiles and possibly kill more
civilians to right a wrong?
Do we do nothing and possibly see more
civilians killed?
We do have an International Court that has
successfully tried and convicted international
war criminals - though not the last two.
Wish I had the answers.

John G., we don't often see eye-to-eye, but I'm with you on this one.

I agree with you and Carrie. Why isn't the rest of the world responding? We're all tired of war. That's understandable. But can you really become desensitized to the sight of dead and dying children, whose lives are being taken in the most inhumane way possible? Only a monster would do such a thing to another human being --and only a sick monster would do this to children. With the world turning their backs on the situation, there's a good chance that Assad feels as though he can do anything he pleases without consequence. And, since he apparently doesn't have a conscience, he'll probably do just that.

John G., you said it beautifully. I wish I could send you a dozen stars. Since I can't, I send you my sincere gratitude for having the courage to say the right thing --as unpopular as that thing might be! Carrie, I could see the direction you were taking us --post by post. In one of them you asked us to please look at the slides that were taken after the chemical attack. Thank you for guidance and for always trying to make this world a better place in your own kind and gentle way.
