The episode comes amid increased criticism of how many U.S. based news outlets including MSNBC and the Times which are often categorized as "liberal" by many--skew and bend their coverage in order to offer a narrative more friendly towards Israel.

"All the News That's Fit to Print." Redefined! As if the Times wasn't doing that on its own already. Exposing the "real, known reasons" that led to the Iraq war, before the war, wasn't FIT to print.

Changing the headline from “Four Young Boys Killed Playing on Gaza Beach” to “Boys Drawn to Gaza Beach, and Into Center of Mideast Strife” was done by the Times on its own. So all that Israeli editing was already taking place at Times Square.

More proof that Israel is a rogue nation with an oppressive government.

Sure USA, just keep your mouth shut and send more money and bombs.

Where are the Tea Party types when you need them? You like another Country telling you what to do? Heck you don't like it when your own Administration is trying to do something......even when it's good for you. Where are all of you now?

Noted. Thanks, Carrie.
You have to take a look at who profits from this War Industry. Who is making the bombs and missiles, guns & bullets? Who is invested in these companies to profit from their sale? Follow the money.

I almost posted this yesterday. I don't see how the Israeli government can tell the NYT to preclear all information. They are from 2 sovereign governments.

@ Ros --- I agree that the 4th Estate should be able to publish news unencumbered especially by foreign gag orders. There are however companies like Faux Noise (Fox) who make up the news. They present opinion, their stilted conservative opinion, as fact, and misrepresent the real news.

I'm with Lynn, on both counts. I know that from the Israeli perspective they are at war, and want to control the flow if info. and editorialization, but do not think they ought to be telling foreign newspapers what they can, and can't write.

Dandelion, I think your answer is tied to Lois' excellent point.
Once again "Follow the money!"

"The Missing Headlines from Israel-Palestine

Studies show that US news is extremely Israeli-centric. The main bureaus for CNN, AP, Time, etc. are located in Israel and are often staffed by Israelis. The son of the NY Times bureau chief is in the Israeli army; "pundit" Jeffrey Goldberg served in the Israeli military; Wolf Blitzer worked for the Israel lobby, and numerous other journalists in the region have personal family ties to the Israeli military.

We believe that Americans should receive all the news about the region, not just that deemed reportable by those with Israeli connections. "

I've noticed that many video's being placed on about Gaza are blocked from being seen by me here in the USA.
