Millions of people in the Philippines began seeking shelter in churches, schools and other makeshift evacuation centres on Friday as a monster typhoon bore down on the disaster-weary nation.

Hagupit has come ashore and though it is expected to be less devastating than Haiyan, it is still a very fierce typhoon. Those poor people in the Philippines were still recuperating and rebuilding after Haiyan and now they have to deal with another similar disaster. My heart goes out to them.

Please look up 350.org - they have a petition which I have just signed which they are going to give to the meeting at Lima to say they will not put up with this any more - they cannot live like this having their lives destroyed by typhoons.
