Our Media Gurus Do Not Approve of a Strong President Obama

Voters seemed to love President Obama's State of the Union address. Republican members of Congress did not. In fact, it was kind of amazing to see the breadth of things they were opposed to in the speech, if their refusal to applaud was an indication.

I don't think he came across as "cocky" at all. I thought it was great and who with even half a brain could disagree with him. Watching Boehner being such a sour puss was amusing and some other Republicans. I admit I did have to turn it to something else after watching Joni.
Who are these people voting for the Republicans? Other than the wealthy don't people realize they are ultimately voting against their own self interest?
Thank you Carrie

Seems only the LEFT will applaud for a LIE.

So, William, are you in the 1%? Or the 5%? Where was the lie in your opinion? Seems obvious to me the Republicans did not listen to the speech at all but, like little children, simply made up their minds ahead of time to be disagreeable. After all, it IS what they are best at.

President Obama has been the only decent President you folks have had in office and power for a good few decades. With the Republicans back in control of Congress, you can look forward to more arrogance, and millions of corporate collars being spent on trying to delude the American public.

Obama was fantastic last night! Very pleased with what he said and how he said it!

Noted. Thanks, Carrie. Well, I was watching msnbc and didn't hear any jabs from them. There were a couple GOP guests that I didn't listen to, though. And, he WAS taken to task over the KXL and trade agreements by the panel---which I agreed with. When that Republican response with Joni-whatever came on.....I was terribly distracted by her manner, so I fast forwarded through most of it.

With his speach you wouldn't think that the GOP control both houses.

That's okay. I don't approve of the Gurus. Since I am the spiffy, my opinion counts more. Why? For the same reason they believe their opinion counts more than the tens of millions of people who voted for Obama, TWICE.

I will believe he is strong when he admits we have a terrorist threat that is huge, & he does something about it, he is putting the U.S. in danger every day that goes by.

I fail to see this NEED to have the president go, "There are terrorists! Be afraid! Always be afraid. The bad guys want to hurt us."

There have always been bad guys that want to hurt us. I refuse to be expected to overlook all the good news and wait for baited breath to tell how afraid to be. At one point, there was actually a color coded terror alert system. I don't know if there still is. That's the ultimate insult telling people they are too stupid to realize how afraid they should be.

The SOTU Address had the lowest viewer numbers in 15 years. Obama, in no way, has been a good president. How do we know? The 2014 mid term elections in November gave him a royal defeat. The American people told us exactly how they feel about President Obama.

Personally, I could not watch the SOTU address and witness another bully pulpit display from Obama.

Obama is irrelevant to the majority of American people. He is incapable of understanding the serious problems the world faces with ISIS. He doesn't have a strategy to address it. Meanwhile, Yemen falls and Obama is releasing the sanctions on Iran that have been working. He is obviously a legend in his own mind who thinks he can convince Iran not to move forward with a bomb with his winning personality.

After Obama finally leaves our WH in 2016 there will be many books written about Barack, Michelle and Valerie Jarratt.

My guess is that many of those books will be written by democrats. 2016 cannot get here soon enough IMO.
