Noted. Thanks, Carrie.
From article: "....three witnesses who testified against Khattab---including the soldier driving the military jeep which the army claims was hit by a stone thrown by the student---were discovered during a court hearing to have coordinated their testimonies."

I too found that interesting Lois. That's what led to the 'plea deal'.

"Khattab was accused of attending an illegal demonstration and throwing stones at an Israeli military vehicle.

According to Addameer, Israeli military law allows a maximum penalty of twenty years imprisonment for throwing rocks."

She doesn't look like the type of woman who could pick up a sizeable stone and throw it with any precision anywhere, especially at military personnel. . .

you guys are messing this site up. that's why no more brilliant people come like back in the day. this site use to be a well of knowledge. people from all over the world came to the community news section to express themselves. you don't see them anymore. you can't treat intelligent people like idiots. they'll leave. this site has too much hate now. look at this post. we live in the usa, how many teenagers are imprisoned here? i wonder what the numbers are? i know they're a lot. maybe as much as the population of all israel itself. so those are millions of stories that should have been posted b4 this one. there are hundreds of teenage prison abuse stories every second of the day in los angeles just by itself. why give preference to an arab over a close to home american? why?

Justin, Islamist PR team does not have a task of inviting brilliant people. They prefer to give a brief and simple story, a convincing picture and a call to action. Thinking hurts their cause.

Why do you think Carrie keeps posting everything that shows up on anti-Israel and anti-America hate sites, at a rate of tens per day?

Do you know that running Jihad on Internet is one of 14 allowable forms of Jihad, and Jihad is a religious duty for all Muslims, not only for non-Moderate ones.

The article says: “In the last couple of years, it was not so common to arrest women for throwing stones, but we believe this case is part of increasing attacks on peaceful resistance activities,” Addameer director Sahar Francis told The Electronic Intifada contributor Charlotte Kates before Khattab’s sentencing."

So, that woman threw stones at Israeli military at the time of confrontation. In Canada people throwing stones at police are likely to be shot dead, because a stone is a weapon. In US as well.

Stones thrown from roofs or passing cars may kill people. Recently Israeli 4 years old girl was killed by a stone thrown by Palestinian Arabs at her car. Israel must stop this terror, if PA cannot.

The fundamentalists only need to work on those who are impressionable enough, psychotically inclined enough, or desperate enough in their own lives that they see theirs as a viable alternative.

Thank you for posting this update article, Carrie, I was wondering what the sentence for Lina Khattab would be. It was already very clear from the previous article that Lena was to be made an example of to deter fellow Palestinian students. From that article it was also clear that the prosecutors had to go through quite some trouble to get "evidence" for her dangerously criminal stone throwing from independent witnesses. Luckily she seemed to have had a very good lawyer who managed to show the court that these independent witnesses had coordinated their testimonies. The Israeli military judge must have gnashed his teeth when he could only give her 6 months in jail, a fine and a 6 months suspended sentence.
I doubt that the time she spent in jail prior to her sentencing is deduced from her current jail time, even though she was denied bail too.
