More than 60 years after her death, a new exhibition shows why Frida KahloâEUR(TM)s distinctive look and exuberant choice of clothes are still so powerful

Never really thought about her fashion sense just her creative canvas stokes. Interesting to see the same vibrant colors in her clothing as seen in her paintings. thx Carrie

The singer-songwriter, Bermudian Heather Nova, was heavily influenced by Frida Kahlo.

When someone's clothing becomes this personal, and is this intimate, with so much of herself in them because she made them, it seems almost trivial to use the word "fashion." "Costume" is a little better, though maybe not much, since it's hard for many people to grasp what when one dresses oneself this way, the only role one is dressing for is oneself. As one who makes a lot of my own clothes (and has worked as a theatrical costumer), my guess is that Frida would not have minded, but would have ben amused by, designers "borrowing" details - provided no designer tried to turn women into little Frida clones.

I'll pass on the unibrow and mustache. Usually doesn't look good on either sex. i'm not even gonna comment on the Santa Claus/gabby Hayes beards on mid life men.
