Conservative writer and professional provocateur Ann Coulter may have finally gone too far Thursday night after mocking the Muslim father of a U.S. Army captain who died while saving ten of his fellow soldiers in Iraq in 2004.

Ann Coulter gives conservatives a s***ty name. I'm glad to see her fellow right-wingers turn against her.

Ann Coulter has been said to have gone too far before and renounced by a few right-wingers for it, but she's always come back even more toxic. You know the saying: S%&t floats...

Noted. Thanks, Carrie.
She "may have finally gone too far"? I think she went too far quite awhile back myself. This is mean, cruel, obnoxious and defamatory in my opinion. I think it's time for her to dry up and blow away....

I would say she needs to be ashamed of herself, but no doubt she is very proud of her horrible remark. I saw one tweet that asked if she had not been hugged enough as a child. She is so full of hatred towards anyone who is not like her she is scary.

She is a waste of good air! The soulless one should be declared persona non grata.

It is clear where Captain Khan got his courage and morality. His parents are heroes, too, for coming forward to remind us all of not only what it means to be an American but also what it means to be a human being. Thank you Mr. and Mrs. Khan.

I'm sorry that this Muslim-American dad had to provoke a (typically) outrageous response from AC (whose name I cannot spell) to get on C2NN Front Page. HIs speech, which I watched on DNC day 1 or day 2 coverage, deserved --ON ITS OWN-- coverage a-plenty, and admiration & solidarity from Americans throughout the land! This man, because of his tragic, ultimate sacrifice and his potent, incisive words, sends out a clear message that annihilates Islamophobic, hate sentiment, attitudes & actions; should cut them off at the root!

It also should be watched by those at C2 who regularly indulge in spreading anti-Muslim sentiment. His speech is a powerful antidote to C2 hatemongering, such as the abhorrent post I came across some time ago & which made me feel such profound loathing & repulsion that I still remember the tltle: something like 'the inability/incapacity of Muslims to ever integrate Western and/or democratic societies'! I immediately thought of all the French Muslims of Maghrebi background, whose parents or grandparents were North African immigrants, who, despite hardships and discrimination, have become successful entrepreneurs, academics, researchers, medical doctors, lawyers, journalists... It is simply criminal to spread such unfounded generalizations & smears!

AC has always been "soulless and heartless," that is obvious & she has proved it a million times! Khizr Khan, the father of a fallen hero who lost his life to protect his comrades, deserves our attention & our thoughts, not the vile AC!

From today's Guardian: "Trump attacks Muslim father's Democratic convention speech" includes the video of Mr. Khan's DNC speech. My heart goes out to him & his wife. I hope they have other children to alleviate the grief of losing their son, no matter how proud they are of his bravery & solidarity with his fellows.

I was so moved, when, "At the climax of the speech, Khan, a Harvard-educated lawyer, pulled a small constitution from his jacket pocket and held it above his head.

“Have you even read the United States constitution?” he asked of Trump.

“Have you ever been to Arlington cemetery? Go look at the graves of the brave patriots who died defending America – you will see all faiths, genders and ethnicities. You have sacrificed nothing and no one.”

Bravo, bravo!

I don't often agree with the Clintons, but I do agree with Hill when she says, "“This is a time for all Americans to stand with the Khans..."

MSNBC Khizr Khan & Ghazala Khan Exclusive Interview (@10.24, if you want to skip Hillary's tribute to Captain Khan): Trump's vile comments insinuate that the late hero Captain Humayun Khan's mother, Ghazala Khan, didn't speak at the DNC, but merely stood silently beside her husband, because Muslim women are silenced & coerced into silence, playing (once again) on vile, facile stereotypes, but I have just been crying myself, listening to Ghazala Khan explain to the MSNBC interviewer how she loses her composure every time she sees a photograph of her late son; how at home, she cannot even enter the room where her son's pictures are; and how she fought to control her emotions on stage at the DNC, as a huge photograph of her son was projected onto the wall behind the couple during her husband's speech. This woman's fragile, breaking voice & her grief over the loss of this beloved son were overwhelming for me, and I found myself submerged in emotion!

Thanks, Carrie, for this post, which I hope will spread the content of Mr Khan's speech far & wide.
