When I saw the results I thought for a second that I had read the question wrong and answered in favour of NOT banning because the results at this point are:

Should South Australia ban greyhound racing?

I'm guessing the pro-racing people mobilized as well!

Thank you, we have already counted your vote. I couldn't vote again, it only allowed the one vote for me when I did it the other day.

The gamblers and the gambling industry must be strong in Australia to want to keep this going. No one with compassion for these lovely dogs would want to keep this going.

What I think has happened with this polling so far is that greyhound industry folk from around Australia have banded together to vote for no, and the general public's view, so far on this vote poll, has not got out (coverage). That's I'm sure why this polling is skewed at present..

Thank you, Animae. Of course I voted yes, which is the only correct vote. Looks like the pro-cruelty folks are stuffing the ballot box, so to speak, because right now, the No votes are winning. They remind me of most politicians; self-serving and rotten to the core. I noted this too.

Dandelion makes a huge and valid point.

The gambling industry is a huge multi-billion pound business, just as war is. People waging/betting/gambling have almost zero thought/concern over the animal racing, just as a soldier in war merely thinks of killing another person as being part of his job.

Noted and voted. There were more Yes votes when I voted. Those working this disgusting industry are totally ruthless and unscrupulous and it would be no surprise to learn that they are using some sort of loophole to increase the negative voting. I hope I am completely wrong because it is awful to lean toward all this cynicism. I hope with all my heart that the Yes voters will soon overtake and win this critical racetrack animal issue.

Rosie A (340)
Saturday September 24, 2016, 3:45 am
I have just voted 'Yes' for the second time and no questions were asked, no acknowledgement made that I had already voted and my vote, as far as I could tell, was not refused. This means 'No' voters can do the same. If anyone knows that this poll is valid and cannot be corrupted, please do tell us how you know. Thank you so much. (Oh! The site also refused to accept my 'comment' on the fact.

Just got on and got a message from Henrietta dear Animae...I will go look at this and vote, but for anyone on Facebook that doesn't understand I am posting a bit of your news...I do hope you don't mind.

Frankly, I have tears going down my face from this ~no words just mumbling to myself. Corporate GREED is absolutely obscene. I'm actually gasping right now.

"ALMOST 500 greyhounds were killed in South Australia last year - or more than one a day, Greyhound Racing SA has revealed.

The release of euthanasia and rehoming statistics comes as members of the South Australia’s upper house - the Legislative Council - today prepare to vote on a motion by Greens MLC Tammy Franks, for an inquiry into the greyhound racing industry in South Australia.

According to the Greyhound Racing SA figures, in 2015-16, 482 greyhounds were euthanased — in many cases for being too slow to race — an “unnecessary” number the racing body wants to reduce by more than half by 2018.

A total of 639 greyhounds were re-homed through adoption programs last year, with 775 expected to be re-homed this year."

I always have wanted to rescue one of these precious grayhounds Animae...they need so much help and thank you and Mandi for fighting.

Dumbfounded and Speechless. Corporate Greed and these POS Fat Poops ride off the backs of innocent creatures. Now PUT THESE JACK LEGS into the pen... Ok you Greedy ....run around after your own "BUNNY" and I am sure you are all on the list for obscene gestures.

GUYS WE NEED TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE on this one PLEASE. My heart aches. VOTE, sign petitions...Animae and Mandi you guys have them, if not I will pull up. Switch your browsers, go again. Post with a photo of this on Facebook, if you are on Facebook (I am not)...BUT, both Animae and Mandi, yes, I will forward.

The corporations and MONEYMAKERS on this Greyhound Racing have gotten to this poll and GUYS WE MUST MAKE OUR VOICE HEARD AS "The Voice for the Voiceless". If we don't who else?

Let these greedy idiots that control and get $ from this horrid racing START to run around their own track with whatever (?)~ Put them in a cage and give them no contact except for total despair. This NEEDS TO STOP!!! This is a HEART ISSUE WITH ME, thank you for posting and flag if I got quite upset!

Posting in group if I can too. This needs to stop...again I am stuttering! Thank you Animae, Mandi and others for fighting for these precious ones. Saw one today limping, now this, yes, I do have quite wet eyes

Sweet Animae Post again tomorrow,

Let's get a FRESH START and I will be there if you want.

Personally, I have already written this into the San Diego Union Paper about the abuse ~ San Diego does not race here in California, but I wanted the paper to know what is going on with animals.

No one cares sometimes, but you catch someone like I did on the Cox Cable service today they are so thankful that people fight for this type of abuse and her daughter rescues abused animals.

Can we address a new petition to this Corporation? I can try next week when I have a little time out, but this is one dog I have always wanted to rescue.

Well, dear, I want to rescue Horses too, but you and Mandi got my attention on this one! TY

Animae like you I'm disappointed. So much for the compassion of our fellow Australians I told you before the bloody shock jocks on our commercial radio stations have been the voice of the greyhound industry . Their stories of the poor suffering greyhound breeders on the verge of bankruptcy some thinking of suicide ,have quickened a felling of compassion for them stronger than our rational one for the dogs. We tried and will keep trying

Dear friends let's not get too worked up about these false results, i don't believe these polls are taken too seriously by those who have the power to do something about this vile industry, it's the undercover investigations & exposures that will definitely score us the ban in South Australia as it did in N.S.W. & A.C.T.
We have a strong anti Greyhound racing movement here in S.A., we hold regular protests/rallies, we are LOUD, i attend every one!

The gambling fraternity are insignificant CHEATS & animal abusers who should face court & sentencing, there's obviously a few of these bullies that are clearing cookies from their browsers & voting multiple times! The exact same thing happened with the NSW poll i had posted a while ago.

THANK YOU all for your dedication & persistence.
i Love you all.

There's really only one way of effecting real change here. That is by changing the dynamic of who runs government, and people's habits as regards gambling, which is a multi-billion pound industry. The Gentry, Nobility, Royalty, Wealthy, and predominantly Conservative right-wing mindset ARE all pro-Hunting, pro-Animal racing, and pro-Animal butchery, because historically, they haven't had real jobs to do which would reduce the amount of free time they have to exploit other lifeforms. All that would require change in order for other lifeforms to thrive.

This is worldwide, and the deeper seated problem is that the industries surrounding this, have lots of employers/employees, so you would have to bear in mind that plenty of people's livelihoods would be affected. Yes, animals suffer, BUT, without changing the way industries and governments operate, you would get real change.

To do that, you require a genuine Labour government OR Green Government in power, in both Australia, China, America and Britain.

So, ANYONE voting for Hillary Clinton OR Donald Trump, or Theresa May's government in Britain, you're going to get EXACTLY the same as we have now. Vote for Jeremy Corbyn in Britain AND Dr. Jill Stein in America, and THINGS WILL slowly start to change.
