Take the Quiz, Feed a Child ACTION

World  (tags: hunger, Africa, food, children, quiz, Horn of Africa )

I took this quiz with trepidation as it is sponsored by Monsanto Company and Monsanto Fund. But if answering 5 questions will feed a hungry child in the Horn of Africa, there was no turning back. I hope you feel the same way.

Nah, just can't do it.Thanks but no, thanks. I won't help this heinous corporation look good. Yeah, donate a meal or two while undermining the very ability to grow food on the planet !
Hate these quizzes anyway.

I posted this quiz yesterday, and on my link the sponsor remains LG. I am quite dissapointed that the World Food Programme is dealing with Monsanto...An act of desperation??

A star for Pamylle for understanding /knowing that a company like Monsanto has absolutely NO social conscience - and for refusing to be sucked into what most likely is nothing more than an exercise in public relations - lord knows they need some positive press about something; probably paid for with some of those millions Bill Gates invested when the company was having "financial difficulties" last year - imagine how many starving children could be fed with what they are probably spending in their attempt to whitewash their image? Or how many could be fed if their parents werent being sucked into bankrupcy / suicide buying into Monsanto's "seed and weed" program. They do seem to have a track record of slithering into third world countries, lulling the government there into allowing them to set up shop - with the resulting bankrupcies and suicides amongst the hapless farmers they have gulled with their promises of increased crop yields - and so I too will note this article - but knowing and understanding Monsanto's track record thus far - it'll be a cold day in hell before I do anything on their behalf least of all sign my name onto anything which also bears theirs - sorry. lg was the sponsor i saw. i encourage every crappy company out there to give away more money. i encourage nuns to take donations from the mafia. i encourage rescues to take money from breeders. i've liked every idiotic company on facebook that's giving away a buck. nobody on my friend's list is fooled by my actions. those companies aren't getting any favorable publicity.

It's good to learn from the quiz and be able to feed a child at the same time.

Your point is well taken, Catherine, and I respect Nancy & all of you who do what they think is best.

It's true that many folks on Care2 aren't fooled. Meanwhile, in my offline experience people ARE.

For example: how many times have I discussed why I have NEVER bought anything at the local McDonald's, only to hear "oh, but they do so much good !" (Yes, factory-farmed animals, obesity inducing foods, served by underpaid workers - but, hey, they'll send in the clown with the corporate cancer treatment).

Corporate whitewashing works well enough, I'm afraid.

I review & sign so many petitions, do so many daily clicks to donate, that I feel comfortable declining those actions I don't resonate with.

To each his own...Believe me I agree with those who don't participate. I too feel that the evil Monsanto must implode. But until they do, I"ll help to feed some folks.

I soooo agree with Catherine T!
I took it ,posted it on face book with the bite your fist and just do it, and sent out emails!
They know its to help, and no ones ever going to change their mind on Monsanto, except maybe for the worse, if that's even possible. 4 out of 5.
Thanks Lynn, you did the morally right thing sharing this. Thanks!

Noted and took the quiz. I know Monsanto is as corrupt as they come, BUT I'll use any company's attempt at propaganda, to make themselves look good, to feed a starving child. I still wont use any Monsanto product, but I'll use their blood money for SOME good. Thanks, did good. :)

We don't like Monsanto because of the problems they cause the world community, but I'm guessing that they're doing this to try to better their image. -- I, certainly, signed.

Monsanto may want to improve their IMAGE, but as long as their REALITY remains, they are only putting lipstick on a cadaver.

I did take the quiz anyway, though.
