Right now, the Obama administration is pushing forward a 5-year offshore leasing plan that includes potential drilling in America's pristine and fragile Arctic Ocean - despite the fact that there's no proven way to clean up a spill in the Arctic's extreme

We should find the way to reduce the demand on oil, not to find more supply. Nothing can sustain humans' growing demand on all natural resources.

We've got all this high tech and we have yet to clean up an ocean spill adequately. When we can clean up the inevitable spills, we should consider exploration drilling; when we can minimise leakage and rupture possibilities to near zero we should resume production drilling. Until then we should hold off.

Petition signed. Plus have signed other ones that are against drilling. I wish these fools would just get it through their thick skulls that it's harmful to all when they do stupid things like drilling anywhere. Thanks Nancy

Noted and signed. Thank you, Nancy. I have signed SO many of these! With the added message that I would have to assume they work for the oil companies rather than the citizens of the United States if they approve this and when are they going to actually stop subsidizing this and honor their promise to get us off our oil addiction.

If there was a GOP candidate who had any record of approving environmental legislation, Obama could be ripped to shreds.

There is no way to clean up any off shore oil spill, yet Obama keeps letting them drill. I wonder how much big oil has contributed to his campaign? He is a huge environmental disappointment.
