Google is sponsoring a conference this week that features white supremacists, anti-gay activists, and one group classified by the Southern Poverty Law Center as a "White Nationalist hate group."

Noted, signed & posted to FB. This is awful. Especially coming from probably the biggest and most used search engine in the world. But, I guess, I should not be surprised. Just terrible.

I only use Google as a search tool, for YouTube videos, and used to use a document sharing feature but have since quit. I prefer Yahoo, Hotbot, and metasearch (DogPile, Metacrawler) for search engines. I consider Aryan Nation, KKK, and other ethnic superiority idiots the scum of the human race. Hence I won't be using Chrome, GMail, or other such Google features, I'll stick to Yahoo Mail, the Opera and Firefox browsers, and other connections.

To me the freedom of expression includes the freedom to express ideas that are repulsive, stupid, vile, cryptic, blasphemous, obscene etc.
Either all ideas can be freely expressed or in effect none really can.

The repulsive, vile etc. ideas certainly dont go away by being hidden and I'd say thaen whenver there is something rotten, something coorupt or something ablaze I'd rather prefer to have it out in the open where it is so much easier to fight.

Having them out in the open probably also make them less appealing to confused minds - they loose the allure of the hidden.

Freedom of expression is one thing but they are promoting racism and antisemitism. It reeks of white supremacy and I find it repulsive. I have gmail and sadly I do like it.I use Goodsearch as a search engine. Every time you use it a bit of money goes towards your cause.

So you believe that letting people say what they want implies agreement with what they say?
