SIGNED! As an egg-free lacto veg for thirty years, no rennet in cheese (rennet is cow stomach lining to make milk curdle), I already was accustomed to reading food labels. Now I have been careful to avoid "palm" in my products, too. I actually now am almost vegan, and avoid corn unless organic, soy unless organic, most GMOS and Pesticides by eating organic whenever possible, and do not believe that any dairy is "humane" or "organic". I still have so many foods to eat, and my conscience is clear. The people I admire and love the most are as careful as I am on the things we choose to place into our mouths, as money speaks very loudly, and can save the planet, improve karma.

Noted, Signed & Shared! These poor orangutans are such victims of corruption and greed! Since there’s so much corruption in the Indonesian govt. and even the courts, who are so bought off by the palm oil companies particularly PT Kallista Alam and its parent company, and Irwandi Yusuf, former governor of Sumatra’s Aceh Province (and by the way whose running for relection- palm oil companies, especially this one doesn’t want to lose such a friend) who agreed to a covert revision of a map by this palm oil company which took this area out of its protected status thus violating an important moratorium on primary forest agreements that this land was especially to be set aside as an important buffer zone for for the survival of orangutans and even declared a World Heritage Site by the U.N., hopefully we can put pressure on Cargill to purchase palm oil from only those companies who honor agreements about not clearing important peat forests and critical habitat for the survival of these highly endangered animals and also for the sake of reducing carbon emissions which play a critical role in global climate change and our survival too.

A response to Yvette, to VEGETARIANS & VEGANS:

Palm Oil is NOT always DECLARED on Labels!!! Or Label simply says: "Vegetable Oils"!!
Try to read a Chips Packet Label, just as an example!!
This is a real offence to all customers, but particularly to VEGANS and VEGETARIANS devoting their lifestyle not to hurt animals, while, like all other customers, they are

UNWILLINGLY and UNCONSCIOUSLY contributing to the

SLAUGHTER of Tigers, Elephants, Rhinos, Clouded Leopards, Sun Bears, Wildlife & Biodiversity...

and to the

GENOCIDE of Orangutans, who share 97% DNA with us!!!

Signed and noted. Watch food labels carefully- if it brags "No trans-fats" - look for palm oil. Palm oil is a saturated fat, so it is not good for you, but it can carry the coveted "no trans fat" label- that is why so many manufacturers are using it.
