We are not the community of humans but the community of all life on this planet. When and if we (want to) understand that simple fact, we have a chance to survive the hell we created out of this (once) beautiful and peaceful planet.

I have seen what goes on in the farming and anti- vivisection laboratories in small doses so when the first bit of the video showed what was to come I turned it off - it distresses me for days after and only the unconverted need to watch

Still trying to be convert I suppose. I am always scared to comment when I find myself amongst vegetarians. I eat only local meat, where the animals are not confined in such abusive conditions and I have cut down a lot....
Dont' know what to say about the soy article, it's not even just the soy, there are so many worrysome ingredients in the food we buy. Best to try and make as much at home as possible. There are so many easy bread recipes etc. one just has to be creative and find solutions.I would love to just eat food out of a home grown garden, but in the desert climate it's next to impossible to grow anything without having it be burnt by the, will work on myself with the vegetarian part..

Beautifully stated. I really like his soft-spoken, heartfelt presentation. I am still a step away from becoming a vegan, but get closer everyday. And, my eating habits have changed, are changing enormously. I have a neighbor who has a friend who was given a cow, who cares well for the cow, and who has more milk than she can handle. So I was presented with a gallon of the most beautiful raw milk I have ever seen or tasted. Have made yogurt out of much of it. Though I do not buy milk, it does not seem right to me to throw away such a gift. And, I do still eat yogurt. Soy is getting such a bad rap these days, even from Susan Weed, that I no longer trust or use soy products. Just trying to increase my vegetable, fruit, and whole grains usage. Had my first salad from this year's garden yesterday. Yum!

listen, please to this tune.

Every thread of creation is held in position
By still other strands of things living
In an earthly tapestry hung from the skyline
Of smoldering cities, so gray and so vulgar,
As not to be satisfied with their own negativity,
But needing to touch all the living as well.

And every breeze that blows kindly is one crystal breath
We exhale on the blue diamond heaven:
As gentle to touch as the hands of the healer,
As soft as farewells whispered over the coffin.
We're poisoned by venom with each breath we take
From the brown sulfer chimney and the black highway snake.

And every dawn that breaks golden is held in suspension
Like the yolk of the egg in albumen.
Where the birth and the death of unseen generations
Are interdependant in vast orchestration,
And painted in colors of tapestry thread
When the dying are born and the living are dead.

And every pulse of your heartbeat is one liquid moment
That flows through the veins of your being.
Like a river of life flowing on since creation
Approaching the sea with each new generation,
You're now just a stagnant and rancid disgrace
That is rapidly drowning the whole human race.

And every fish that swims silent, every bird that fly freely
Every doe that steps softly,
Every crisp leaf that falls, all the flowers that grow,
On this colorful tapestry, somehow they know
That if man is allowed to destroy all we need
He will soon have to pay with his life for his greed

We respect/protect all others around the world like we do ourself, then we heal our planet & ourself as well! All living beings are as worthy to live the life they were meant too as we treasure our own existence. Thanks Ralph.

As J. Goodacre says, the images are disturbing. I take this kind of horror to heart too. I'm not at all saying that you shouldn't show it, because new people are here to learn every day and it should be there for them. I wonder how we got this far, as the human race, no longer really needing animals for food yet torturing them to increase production. How have we lost our connection with them?

I had to stop watching the video about halfway through.
The images were so dissturbing.
As I've always said we don't deserve the planet.
" the earth does not belong to us, we belong to the earth" chieff Seattle
Shame on us.

Linda, we never had a connection to animals. We just ignored life as life now is ignoring us.
