Another highway is not the answer. If we degrade the beauty of our region, the number of visitors to the area could decrease significantly, having a negative effect on the economic growth of the region.

Oh, good! Another environment-destroying project, all in the name of "progress"! Does anyone believe they'll do this in a way that protects people, let alone wildlife? (Besides which, adding more automotive pollution to the air is hardly beneficial to begin with.) This needs to be stopped now!

Noted and signed. I used to live in the Appalachias and they were some of the most beautiful and quirky areas in this country. I hate the idea that they're getting torn down, torn up and just generally melded into the same old mess that the rest of the US is starting to look like!
