Signed and noted. We have a Congo African Grey who will be 20 years old tomorrow. She came to us as a baby hatched in the US by wild caught parents. This should NEVER happen. We love her and she loves us but no species of parrot should live in a human home. They need others of their own species. We didn't understand this 20 years ago but it didn't take us long to learn as I did a lot of research about sharing a home with a parrot. This needs to stop because not all parrots find loving homes with the patience to learn about their needs. We try to fulfill her needs but no human can adequately do that. One day, hopefully soon, we will find a wonderful sanctuary where she can live out the rest of her 60 or more years with other Greys.

#600. @Diana D, Thank you for sharing your awareness about. Many times, people, by the mere fact of saying love an animal, they get just kept as pets to those should not have been. My country suffers predation by birds, mountain lions, deer, boars, monkeys, turtles, snakes, penguins; etc; which are taken from their natural habitats, killing their mothers, to be sold to foreign buyers. Many of the captured animals die in the process of transfer for sale. Hopefully someday all this is over. And you can continue to transmit your message and place one day at a shrine to your beloved Grey, and that he may have friends of the same species.
