What a surprise! The military is usually so transparent...thanks, Judy.

Noted - you can't win a war if you make your plans public!

Noted. Thanks for posting, Judy. That is $107.5 BILLION of our tax dollars spent in Afghanistan. Hey, Obama got Pakistan, too. Talk about overkill with our money! Shall we discuss where this money would've been better spent here in the U.S.? Everyone should be furious about this.....not to mention the fact that now they don't even want us to know where it's being spent.

Another one about politics. BUT...I do think too much is spent on WAR and not enough spent on defense to try and keep ourselves ready for when the US is attacked.

Hugs to all from Texas

Most of the money spent on "defense" is used to meddle, destabilize, and keep the endless war machine rolling. Afghanistan is a cesspool of corruption as it is, with no small thanks to us, but it apparently needs to become an even bigger black hole. As all empires do, we are actually weakening ourselves, while feeling invulnerable to any real attack.

You can't steal money if the public knows where it's supposed to go. You don't wind up being criticized for killing people if nobody knows how many people you've killed (kind of like why police departments don't track how many civilians they kill). No one can hold you accountable for your actions if no one knows what your actions have caused. Great plan....carry on soldier.

Thank you Judy! The only reason I can think of is ... corruption; the Afghani "elite" getting handsome breadcrumbs and the US "elite" getting the big junk. And why should anybody know how many are killed? There was a good reason why the Swiss Government was forced in 2001 shortly after the "war" started, to take down the "Afghani body count clock" recording the casualties among Afghan civilians. At times I wonder were the number stands with respect to casualties in Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan and Yemen - the latter two suffering from drone strikes en masse. Why is it again that they "hate us"??

Absolutely agree with Judy's and Ken's comment ... like your satirical streak, Ken!

Ken and Eleonora, you both are definitely right on the dishonest and dishonorable way we have been conducting these "wars". Lois points out the amount of our money that we know about that has gone into this black hole, Adding more secrecy is a grave matter that the majority of people won't even notice, unfortunately. We certainly don't hear discussions of this in the mass media.

Hi Judy - you want to have a look at this article:

The West is Manufacturing Muslim Monsters

A bit long but quite interesting and something to think about.
