Donations to St. Jude's Research Hospital were used to pay the Trump Organization hundreds of thousands of dollars for use of Trump properties during fundraisers and re-donating some funds to charities friendly with Trump interests.

Thanks Judy--saw this elsewhere, too...it seems like a money laundering shell game to me.

I hope they put an end to this, but I hope the hospital and the children don't lose out because of it.

The Oligarchy stand up and take pats on the back for being such good citizens, oh look how much they care. I can see a small amount of donations going to pay the Staff for catering, cooking the meals, setting up the furniture, mowing the lawn........beyond that, if Trump is using his place then that is HIS donation.

He and/or Eric should not be paid for their time, the electric bill, rental of the place in general, their phone bill, their office space, cost of food. If they are going to take a big portion of donations to enrich their own bank accounts over sick children then don't run a sham charity to begin with.

We do really need to look at the entire issue of philanthropy. If we did not have such inequality to begin with, much of an this largesse would not be necessary. The rich can donate money to charity, pat themselves on the back, and then write it off of their taxes so the rest of us can subsidize these contributions. Another way of looking at it is that some individuals have a ridiculous share of wealth, and this "charity" makes them even more powerful. They get to pick and choose whatever causes or people they wish to help. Then on top of all this, there are some people like the Trumps who can just never get enough, so they feel they must skim the system on top of all this.

Glad to hear that they are investigating the situation. Trump and his family aren't ones I'd trust. Thanks Judy

Yes, as Judy says above, a lot of philanthropy is a cover for tax avoidance.

Trump wouldn't give a damn thing unless it profited him somehow. He is no philanthropist!
