As much as I think it's bad for other countries to intervene, I think it's time for the West to step up against ISIL and defeat them. They wouldn't survive a day against our troops.

As lying is permissible in islam, perhaps they should state plainly to isis/l that mohammed was a man of peace who hated the crimes of torture, murder, thieving ,rape etc.,

an australian politician wwas lambaste a while ago for saying there are no good guys in that syrian war. he has a point. however, there are plenty of hapless victims, whose hopes of a quiet and peaceful life may never materialise.

JIHADISTs like ISIL have existed since the 7th century and every century since. If there are more good-muslims than bad.......then why aren't the bad ones eradicated by now by their own people. If ISIS doesn't find money, arms and refuge, food and shelter often hiding with those who harbor them.....they couldn't exist.

Poor souls. As always in war it is the innocent who pay the price.

May peace soon return to the region ...

How could this happen ?

Do the allies of IS (USSA, UK, France, Gulf States, Turkey, Jordan and - noteworthy the ghetto state which was built on the flesh and bones of the indigenous people of Southern Syria (Palestine)) not pay them anymore for chopping off heads from only Shiites ?

Some young people strive to follow the "purist" teaching, whatever it means and without looking at costs, that those purist teachings cause to humanity.

That's why you can still see Communists, Trozkists, etc preaching "true" Communism on campuses to naive youngsters. What can be more exciting, than a revolution, where one can become something without spending years of building a career.

ISIS Islam is just another purist ideology, without corruption and compromises adopted by Muslim countries. And this Islam is as bloody, as all new revelations.

As history shows, such new revelations become corrupted over time and die from cynicism of its authorities and lack of money...

Thomas, there are quite a few quite experienced fighters among ISIS.

I just read that the head of Turkmenistan Special Police force defected to ISIS. The guy underwent several training sessions in Moscow and three training sessions in US. He was taught everything US is practicing and is a very formidable enemy.

Let Arabs decide between themselves who is the strongest. I don't want our soldiers to die in that fight. Besides, Muslims have a tendency to unite against whoever comes to help them, so we are really are better off arming sides, but not going in.

Am I being mean-spirited here? But I couldn't help noticing that certain other members are conspicuous by their absence ...
