you and me both Ben, nothing has really changed, and wont unless people buy ethically, including iphones, "Apple" 'org. made the biggest profit this year in recorded history, - yet the abuse re- working conditions for the people that put the phones together continues, - that's why the profit is a record high !- yet people queque over night to buy the latest "iphone" / gadget ?.
I did read that there was an improvement in the way the buildings are -built re- post "Plaza" tragedy, but it seems the compensation to the victims is still being fought in the courts.
If you find out more , would you message me,
But thank you Ben, you have taught me I should add an update on petitions I post, thankfully I only post a few,
there are people here on care2 , that have most things covered,- I wouldn't want to duplicate anything, and get a mouthful AGAIN, for my efforts. Sorry I digress. I will keep a note to remind myself -update , at least to what I can find, -"EG" -" Rana Plaza" x wendy k x & kelly cats xxxxxxxxx

But first, we have a lot to celebrate. After massive protests and even arrests, The Children’s Place is finally paying $2.5 Million into the Rana Plaza Donor Trust Fund to compensate victims of the collapse! This would not have been possible without your petition signatures, phone calls, and rallies. THANK YOU for everything you have done and continue to do to support Bangladeshi workers.

Tell clothing brands to #PayUp to victims of #RanaPlaza via @greenamerica

Two years ago, thousands of people crowded outside the Rana Plaza building, scared to go inside because of ominous cracks that had emerged in the walls. Some banks and shops closed, sending their workers home, but managers at the five garment factories inside Rana Plaza ordered that the garment workers report to their stations.

On April 24th, at 8:57 am, disaster struck—the 8-story building came crashing down, killing 1,134 people and injuring over 2,500.

29 clothing brands were identified as having recent or current orders with garment factories in Rana Plaza when it collapsed.

Nearly two years since this disaster, the suffering continues for the survivors and families of the dead, as they await compensation.

Demand the clothing brands pay up NOW!

The Rana Plaza Trust Fund, which was set up by UN International Labor Organization to collect funds from responsible brands to compensate all Rana Plaza victims fully and fairly, is still a few million short.

Our allies at the Clean Clothes Campaign and International Labor Rights Forum have been tracking which brands have paid—and which still need to pay up.

Take action: Demand these clothing brands pay the victims NOW!

Popular and successful brands like Benetton, Mango, Zara, Walmart and JCPenney have refused to pay what they owe. Each of these brands grossed billions of dollars last year, with millions or billions in profit.
