The USDA has approved a new GMO potato, thankfully we've already put pressure on McDonald's to say they won't use the potatoes, now we need Burger King to commit that they won't buy it.

So what exactly makes this potato so horrifying? What kind of genetic engineering are we talking about, or is this just another knee-jerk reaction to the whole idea of genetically modified food, which we have been eating for the last 20 years anyway?

Innate potatoes do not contain the acrylamide that traditional potatoes do, so the new potatoes actually are less toxic than the old ones. But no one really wants to reduce the carcinogens in potatoes, not if it means some simple editing of a potato's DNA. These enhanced potatoes rot much more slowly than traditional potatoes, thus reducing the likelihood of them becoming food waste over time. But, we living in a pretend democracy where any idiot's opinion is just as worthy as science, so let the idiot majority prevail. Back to the Middle Ages! Let's burn the demon potatoes at the stake, and then move on to whatever next hot button issue gets the tinfoil helmets buzzing on all the red necks.

Here is another view , and sustainable, see who can argue against what has been provided for us , of course the big corporate business' want people to think , the people who are against GMO, are not "with it" they are back in the day blah blah, that is because money has a big mouth !!!
now here is another view to consider, good read and not long winded :) xxxxx thanks for all the comments, we each are entitled to our own views, without the fear of ridicule, cause the person who ridicules , will eat the sour grapes :)
