Petitions not working for me. No good will ever come from nuclear weapons. Leave the stuff in the ground. Do not forget the past or it will be repealed in our future. Peace is the key!!!

Thanks for posting a video of the ceremony, Wendy. It was beautiful and poignant. This was such a significant event in the lives of everyone living in the WWII era. As often happens, however, future generations fail to connect with that significance. This celebration should be global so that all people of all ages in all nations can connect with the horror and devastation of nuclear weapons.

Yes...well. Does it seem prudent to have a small supply of nuclear weapons in the event ISIS gets their dirty, disgusting hands on one?

Pam with respect, if Daesh got their hands on a nuclear weapon , do you think they would give a warning, ? Say they did ? then others retaliated, where would it end? "Armageddon" no one would be around to celebrate any victory.
What no-one has ever been able to answer to me, "Countries put their own people into poverty to build a nuclear weapon, that they are most likely too afraid to use, due to the consequence of such stupendous stupidity"
Imagine what else could be bought with the money, that is used on weapons, that will annihilate everyone , every animal, tree, poison the water for years to come, .
Did you not see, how quickly everything disappeared in the video,? are you not afraid of nuclear weapons?, this is not a case of having a gun, or not having a gun when you need one.
This is entire Countries gone at the press of a button.
We should spending the billions, and trillions of £- Pounds / $ Dollars on repairing the planet, due to the - destruction already created by the greed of "man" & the hunger for power .
I am totally against all nuclear weapons & power, - we have seen how the oceans and all that live in the oceans /seas are being affected, by the recent leak from a nuclear power station, .
Not forgetting some of the children today, still living with the affects of the power leakage at "Chernobyl"
Be careful what you wish for, thanks for your opinion though , Pam , I disagree, but you are entitled to your view of course , - have a peaceful night , oh and thanks Birgit, :) xxxxxxxxxxxxxx
