I believe that they are finally on the correct path with this move . Congress , especially the rightfascistwing, are the enablers of the 1% and the corporates in their corruption/greed and all too often serious crimal actions...along with the rightcrazywing being the ones who are dismantling of our Republic/Democracy and American way of life in general. Time to let them know that they can start representing the people...all of us and not just their corporate bosses ...and end all fasist efforts/coup of our government system immediately....or step down...NOW ! No need to wait to throw them out via elections....just demand they start working for the people and the good of the nation and not just for an election and their 'bosses' as mentioned starting right away..or resign.....period. The people...OWS.... need to 'hound' them like the Paparazzi do movie and tv stars...24/7 until they get the message loud and clear...in my opinion.

Wish I had the means to go and participate! I hope the congress critters don't leave on their Christmas break at that time or before December 5th. If they do, the occupiers will be occupying empty halls....unless they STAY and occupy for a good long time when they creatures came back they would stil be there -- no escape!

I truly hope the police crackdown doesn't generate violence and that the occupation of the Congress can take place peacefully. Thanks Dandelion!

I hope it can be peaceful and non violent too Antonio. So far the most attacks have been from the police on the protestors.

Yes, the pubic needs to reassert its authority over our representatives in government. Our decades long complacency has allowed monied interests to get the attention of our government officials. Very tempting and I can understand the allure of financial stability, professional stability, and having to only answer to a few rather than to the many, but thats not the job.

The job is to support the citizens whereever possible for the greater good, no this is not an end to capitalism, no this is not sociaism, and its not rich against the poor, this is about how we work together to build a great and strong society.

No society can survive or even thrive if one side of it is favored over the other.

PS I know there are many in both the House and Congress that needs to go, but there are some who really do try to do the right things. It must be very difficult to be in either the House or Congress and working next to these fools all the time. In Congress can you imagine Bernie having to deal with these greedy idiots all the time. I've made it a point to write to him, a personal handwritten letter to thank him, I figure it was the least I could do for him.

In order to occupy Congress, one needs to evict those who are already occupying Washington... The Supreme Court gave them a permanent permit to occupy congress. Who? All the Multi-Billion Dollar corporations !!!
I sincerely hope the police will not hurt more protestors. They don't even respect veterans or old or disabled people. I am saddened at the violence enacted up the peaceful demonstrators by the police in many of our cities.
I applaud those who demonstrate. Gone are the days when peaceful demonstrators could lie down in front of a building and be carefully carried away by police (except for anti-abortion demonstrators- they still get respect),now they are pepper sprayed in their eyes. Has anyone ever heard of an anti-abortion demonstrator being pepper sprayed? I haven't.
NO One should be abused that way. However, I wonder why the right wing darlings don't get abused by police but everyone else does.

Anne, you brought up some very good points, and we all can see the slant that this system has morphed into a really sad place. You are correct, one never saw the anti-abortionist demonstrators pepper sprayed nor did the Tea Party have any issues and they brought guns to their rallies.

There are a lot of twisted criminals in our society that are holding powerful positions, and the Police really also need to awaken to this fact. They need to start to question, who ARE They truly protecting? And who are they abusing? There has to be a shift as the first Patriots of the Revolution that lead to the formation of this Country were not at first considered by the law to be Patriots.

There needs to be a shift in the tactics to educate the law enforcement to the new dawn upon them. Those who are in those positions to do must start if they have not done so already. I know one of their own joined in uniform with the OWS and was arrested, his uniform showed one of their own crossing the line.

More people need to start doing that, the former retired in particular, and media needs to start directing information for the law enforcement to read that will be more enlightening to police and security in what their position is, how they are being used as pawns by the criminals and the twisted to keep this sick and broken system going. There is a mass education going on and it also needs to reach their unique perspective on things.

The Do Nothing Congress needs to be occupied, evicted and staffed by real people, elected without the benefit of lobbyists or corporate money. We ARE the 99%.

You know when Troy Davis was going to be executed (murdered) how everyone said "I am Troy Daivis" I think maybe this same thing needs to be done with T-Shirts or signs, where the protesters state "I am YOU" or find out some badge numbers and names and use that for names.....There must be a way to quickly get the point across, with visual as well as audio. The mirror needs to be reflected back at them.

There seems to be a lot of C2 members MariePaulina with these various issues and I'm not really very good at figuring out computer issues. You might want to go to the link I"m giving you below and see if there is some of the answers already there or you can ask there. If anyone can help her better than I please offer it., as this is the best I can do.

This is probably the best "occupy" idea yet. Let them know we are sick and tired of their "do nothing" stance. They have obstructred everything since they took control in 2010 and people are very angry and rightfully so. I wish I could be there!

MariePaulina, please don't post anymore C2 issues on this thread, there is big gaps and it has nothing to do with what this topic is, which is an important one. If anyone has a suggestion they will leave it, otherwise you'll have to take the issues up behind the scenes with the Help section of C2, which is down the bottom of every page or with the link I gave you. Thank you for this understanding.

Yup, Jae, goes twice for me.

Congress, you are on notice. Lack of compliance with the will of your constituents WILL result in no reelection and a recall. The 9% approval rating is your eviction notice, your office will be vacated and you will be replaced by someone that can act out their responsbilities faithfully and with honor and respect for the constituency and will follow their oath of office. We have no need or desire for subpar performance. You will not ruin this country to persue your special interests.

America is finally awakening, but is still weak because of the vampires (politicians/corporations/bankers) that are trying to kill her.

I agree to Occupy Congress,
but as of late the abuse to Protesters at the hands of the Law has been extreme.
Any attempts to covet the pristine lawns surrounding the Capital may only irritate
the Law Enforcement Community whom view the Protesters only as troublesome.

I have the very same problem as Marie P.but as you say Dandelion, that is not the subject of this article. I so agree Occupy Congress. Weed out all the baddies and what will we have? I do not know the answer. Maybe someone else does.

I think someone should pass out pink slips to each congress person. Maybe the snotty Wall Streeters who threw McDonald's applications to OWS have a few saved we could use? Gee, maybe THEY had better hang onto them....their time will come. The meek shall inherit the earth. Long live peacefull protesting!

I wonder if America has the backbone to carry out a real revolution? Something has begun in the shape of OWS but how far can or will it go?

Sheryl G (359)
Monday November 21, 2011, 6:37 am
The last time America had a revolution, it took 20 years to start it, eight years to fight it, and still another six years to fully secure and implement a new government. If the Occupy movement is indeed the genesis of a Second American Revolution , we should not expect its progenitors to offer up a prefabricated quick fix. IIt really isn't reasonable to expect a loosely-organized band of citizen activists to offer the solutions within just a few months. This may be sowing the seeds of a revolution now, but we can not forget that it usually takes many years to reap the harvest.

He who does not fight for his freedom and stands defiant against an unjust system, only forges a link in the shackles of slavery. May the Occupy movement grow , strengthen and prosper. POWER TO THE PEOPLE !
